grip size for the Tanaka S&W M10 Police 4 Inch

Post by K on the run »

I want to buy old wood replacement grips for my Tanaka S&W M10 Military & Police 4 Inch but I have no idea what size to look for, or where (except the unspeakable  place) for that matter.
http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.ph ... 20Handguns
I'm almost done with the modifications but I still need the perfect grips.

Any Idea's?!?

Best regards,
Kim

PS. I'll post pics of the work in progress and how I did it at a later date.

If you haven't done so already, you might want to also post this request in the classified area.

That looks great, from what I can tell (knowing next to nothing about guns). Michaelson, would you please enlighten me on how screen accurate this "gun" actually is? - This would be nice to have and legal too

Kim, would you perhaps show some WIP pics?

Thanks,

Marc

Well, it's not really 'screen accurate', as it's a dead ringer for a K frame Smith and Wesson model 10 .38 special. MUCH smaller than the N-frame Smith HE, but that said, it still has a nice looking Smith and Wesson profile, and would fit just fine in a Keppler holster. All it needs are the correct grips and a lanyard ring.

Sure thing Marc, but not much WIP. All I need is some better looking grips.
I've modified the barrel and the front sight + added a lanyard ring. Oh yes, I did do some airbrushing on it

Thanks Michaelson, you force my hand with all that flattery
Here's a quick walk through.
First a coat of Vallejo STEEL airbrush colour, then a light coat of Citadel colour's Purity seal.
Next several thin coats of 50/50 Citadel Black ink and Citadel clear varnish.
I then distressed the gun using water sandpaper grain 1500(I used it dry) and very fine steel wool. Be very gentle when distressing.
Last I applied two layers of Purity seal and water-sanded the most shining surfaces with grain 1500 again lightly and with a gentle hand.

I'll post a more in depth tutorial in the proper forum later.

Thanks again,
Kim

STEEL colour applied, the barrel and sight is polished aluminium.

Thanks Marc,
Do you mean for the gun or the paint job? I got the gun from a friend for the same price as listed in the link at the top.
The paint job I'll do for free, but just for you my friend... if you decide to get one.

Best regards,
Kim

GC: some times they show up on ebay, I got them from a friend who bought a batch of six in different sizes. He had a pair to spare  so I got them.

I'm blinded by the light.
Shall I go in to the light Michaelson? :D

Excellent work K!

I have seen this revolver in person - the pictures simply doesn't do it any justice.
