Those are nice looking hat stands. What does the top of them, where the hat sits, look like? Did you make those, or buy them somewhere? I don't think I have ever seen any like that.

The stands I bought from Capt_Zak (a member here). The tops are styrofoam domes. They work great.

You are going to be VERY happy when you get your Grey/Gray Hat from Steve. I just cannot tell you how soft this one is. One of the easiest hats I have ever had to bash. Mine was Open Crown.

SCHWEEET!!!! It's a beautiful fedora! I like the color, too. How does the softness compare to your brown AB?

Steve has stated since it's introduction (and from my own personal experience) that Winchester uses less stiffner in the gray felt, so it's a LOT softer than the standard brown.

The brim is the same. All I did was flip it down. I am not Messing with this one like I do with the Brown ones I have. Stricktly for Dress Occasions.

That is a beautiful hat, G. Fedora really has a nice color gray. It is well-styled and very nice.

It is a little dressier than the brown and compliments it well; filling in for the more formal occasions.

Enjoy it! It is a wonderful hat.

Nice looking suit G-mann.......I think the brown hat looks really good with the blue suit.

I like the Gray AB too. Looks like something right out of the 1930's and the softness even comes through in the pics.

So how many grays does Fedora offer?
I assume this is not the same as the seaplane gray that HJ has, correct?

Nice hat BTW!

Yes!!! My exact thoughts when I saw that third photo. Looks like he stepped out of a 1930's detective movie. I would hate to have G-Mann on my tail!! Also, that third photo looks more color accurate on my pc.

Also, that is vintage black ribbon on the hat.(late 1940s) Hard to find the good stuff nowadays. I lucked up on a couple of hundred yards of this stuff awhile back. (non available for sale  ) Fedora

I like the indoor pic. I am almost afraid to say, with a window nearby, how much it looks like the seaplane gray hat.

Here is an Indoors pic
Wow. I really made that hat??? Folks forgive me, but I honestly look at pics of hats I have made and pause before it hits me that I actually made that hat. That is a nice hat, even if I did make it. This one is the 5 3/4 open crown height that John wanted.

I agree on the color as compared to the seaplane. It sure looks remarkably close to me. At least in the ballpark from what we see on screen. This gray is a chameleon the same way certain other colors are. In the sunlight, it appears gray. In the shadows it has a brownish tinge to it, and this really jumps out if you sit one beside a gray with blue undertones.

I don't normally post on threads involving hats just received, but couldn't help myself from chiming in here. Fedora

So this is the only gray you're actaully making?
Because looking at this hat and seeing HJs in person, man, they look like 2 totally different beasts.
But that indoor shot, WOW! Very nice!

This is the gray that I use for the Raiders gray. I also have a charcoal gray. HJ does have this same gray, but just like the browns, the shade will vary from run to run, sometimes. You would not notice it, unless you put it side by side with another hat from another run. Generally these differences are in the lighter/darker department. Some runs will be lighter or darker than other runs. I am assured the same amount of dye is used each time, but various furs absorb slightly differently. A natural variation of sorts. Fedora
