My Raiders Jacket arrived! (Now with pictures.)

I cannot believe it's really here.

I got to work today and went about my business. I had a meeting out of the office at 10 and when I got back, there it was on the reception counter... my parcel from Wested. Oh joy!

With sweaty palms I opened the package. There it was, my Raiders jacket in all its glory. I looked beautiful. Now for the real test. I slipped it on...

Perfect fit.

Wested did a splendid job with my measurements (and I was worried about those).

I got my shirt at the same time and it looks great. I can't wait for the trousers.

Now I have my jacket for my trip to London in June.

I'm going to wear it as is for a while and see how it distresses on its own. After that I may get out the sandpaper to help the process along.

I did not specifically order LC sized pockets. I only found this forum after I ordered the jacket.

The pockets measure 7" x 8 1/4", but I am 6' tall so the pockets were probably made larger to fit the jacket proportions.

Next year I plan to order the LC jacket however.

I was discussing this with Tone, did you specify tapered sleeves? They do looked liked the tapered version, (we were wondering if these were the new "tapered as standard" sleeves). How do those feel to you they look good.

We were discussing: if you now ordered tapered, do you get "ultra" tapered sleeves?

BreinederIndy, the jacket is authentic lambskin. The grain in the leather is very fine, so it would look quite smooth.

And I didn't specify tapered sleeves, KT, so they must be the tapered standard as you say.

The jacket feels great. My hands don't rattle around in the cuffs at all.

Just to let you know, when I took my measurements I gave what the Wested website said to give, but with a couple of modifications:

I gave my exact height, feet flat on the floor and no exaggerations.

I measured my chest and I checked my suit, 44 regular, however since I wanted to make sure that I had some extra room for movement and such I gave a 46 regular measurement.

For the sleeve I measured my arm, and took the measurement of a coat and a suit coat. I used my suit coat length + 1/2", again to ensure a little extra room. Mind you I didn't know about underarm gussets at that point. If I had I would've specified the gussets and only added 1/4" to my jacket sleeve measurement.

All in all I'm extremely pleased with the jacket.

Before I order my next jacket, however, I'm going to go to a tailor and have him take all my measurements. I'm sure it'll be worth the price.

I really wish I went with the option of smaller pockets on my temple jacket, but I had no idea that it was even a standard option I could choose.

Is it a standard option? I thought that was the purpose of the poll, for Peter to decide whether to offer it as an option.

Those look like LC pockets, which is probably a good idea for a big dude.

Yea, this is a new development. In the past and current (until Peter says otherwise) all jackets had/ have LC size pockets.

Really? On the flipside, I hope there's a tapered-tapered sleeve. Those indy screenshots look like the sleeves are hugging Ford's forearms, causing the wrinkles and the shape. Not that Ford is gumby, but he's no Popeye either. And of course some would prefer a little more space and air in their sleeves, just not screen-accurate nuts.

But the overall length of that jacket looks great, Hunter Jones.
