Received my Todd's Gear Today

My bag strap, holster, and gun belt came today. I think that the pieces aren't bad for the price.
Out of all the stuff that came, the holster is probably the best bargin.
Now, my whip and holder which I bartered for will be here in a month or so and I'll be ready for a "Summit" or Halloween.
The next project I would like to do would be to get a downloadable Grail Diary (how) and then work on Henry, Sr. My white beard is great for that.
I need a job first. I don't teach again to the fall semester.
Tomorrow, I'm going to volunteer as a "Patient Advocate" at one of the local hospitals. Listen to this gear: Navy blue blazer, white shirt and khaki pants. I'll be the only man. I will wear my Aldens for foot support. I don't know if you are issued gear or you buy it yourself. I'm guessing the latter.
I'll be changing my name to Indiana Advocte My quest will be the rare happy patient.

That's funny. I received my Todd's stuff today too. I received a gun belt, holster & whip holder. The holster is ok. I will upgrade to a better one eventually. The gun belt was ok as well. Any suggestions on how to "dye" the back of the belt? Would kiwi or brown Picards work?

I had good luck using brown tint pecards on the whip holster I got from todds, both front and back. I greased it in untill I was satisfied and let it sit overnight. (I did both the inside and the outside. It's kind of a darker "tan" similar to the color of the Indyboot on the "aldenshop" website. http://www.aldenshop.com/DrawOneShoe.asp?CategoryID=109

I'm always afraid of dye transfer. Someone wrote a thread on this I believe.
As it stands now, I'm not messing with any of the leather. I'll probably ruin my new shirt or some other terrible tragedy

I have been wondering about the dye-issue as well. I have received belts with dyed front from 3 vendors and cant really understand why they are not dyed "all the way through" like the originals from NH.
So I am now producing them myself using durable, brown leather and original buckles from Noel Howard, but without whipholder. Not exactly meant to be screenaccurate (go for Noel Howards if You want screenaccurate) but close enough and really good for everydayuse so I can spare the NH for the speciel occasions )

Very nice work. I haven't even had a chance to really look at what I've bought. Taking care of the grandbaby and running my parents around have taken up some of my play time. It is a good thing though.

I just picked this belt up today for $3.00 at the thrift store. I even scored a small one for my son for $1.75. A pretty good "close enough" belt I think. The great thing is that the buckle & leather keeper can be removed by unsnapping the belt. So I plan to ad a metal keeper.

Looks like the Wal-Mart "faded glory" brand - My first gunbelt was one of these with a silver buckle and an added metal keeper - not a bad belt which I now wear to work - I replaced it with at Todd gunbelt...

Panama Tom Jr. was right. I hit my local Wal-mart last night and they had a ton of the belt I found at the thrift store. It is in fact the "Faded Glory" brand, and they were $9.96. Only thing is that the buckle was brass/gold in color and not silver. Just thought I'd give a "heads up" for those interested.

Well, I just looked closely at my Todd's gear and put the strap on, etc. I still think for the money, it is pretty nice stuff.
Dummy me, put the bag strap on backwards I wondered why the buckle wasn't visible.
I still haven't tried the Airsoft pistol in the holster. As I said on a different thread, the gun fits perfectly in my vintage holster and Sam Browne belt (is still for sale).
I have now taken my shruken WPG bag and filled it with my medical equipment from when I taught health. The fit is terrible compare to the MKVll where the equipment resided for many years. If you have a WPG bag, don't wash it
Now I'm waiting for my whip and holder. I think by the middle of next month my outfit should be complete. All dressed up and nowhere to go For those of you that have been following the odyssey of my Aldens, I have removed my orthodics and replaced them with a fine, full length insert that is very padded. My left foot feels better. If I walk shoeless around the house, my foot is sore from my original orthodics. I suppose one's foot can change in the 5 years that I've worn the professionally fit orthodic. :

Regarding the Walmart belt, you can get some silver fingernail polish (like I did) and paint over it. I'm sure spray paint would work too. Or if you get the belt in black at Walmart, I think it has the silver buckle and you can just trade out the buckles when you get home.

Regarding the Walmart belt, you can get some silver fingernail polish (like I did) and paint over it. I'm sure spray paint would work too. Or if you get the belt in black at Walmart, I think it has the silver buckle and you can just trade out the buckles when you get home.

i actually took the buckle off the black belt and put it on the brown belt. I just did a swap in the store. If your doing temple of doom the walmart belt is a great alternative since you dont need the metal loop.

All I can say is that all the belts I've seen has grooves. Even the slider has grooves on the Noel Howard-belt and we actually make them like that today. But should anyone consider ordering a belt it would be no problem making it without the grooves.
