MK VII Bag
Okay, I dived in at the deep end and bought a MK VII bag and strap for £30 from ebay.
I know it's a reproduction, but I just can't be bothered hunting for a real one.
What do you think?

WPG bags are the best reproduction bags you can get (that I know of) although when you recieve it the bag will be an extremely dark green. You may have to use the Todds Costumes tutorial in order to distress it to lighten the color a bit. I've been tweaking with mine but if you do make sure you have plenty of scouring powder because I ran out and I couldn't make a paste.

Yes, it is the same bag.Hm, wonder if this is the same bag as Todds costume sells (and is in the mail to me , he is selling wpg shirts I think...
I do recommend following Todd’s Costumes tutorial. I did it this weekend. It was easy, took about two hours. I did it in the kitchen sink (which I don't recommend). Be warned it can get messy fast if you’re not careful. And wear gloves.
I am falling into that trap as we speak.the spending starts with a MK VII and escalates
I started with the jacket, so i've already got the biggest expense out of the way.
oh...and i also have a web belt =P im thinking bag next. then maybe somewhere down the line *possibly* the hat. i guess it's a case of 'well, ive got this much...i may as well just go a little bit further' until your house is filled with indy clothing and you have no other clothes but indygear

Congrats, HD.
That's a good looking MKVII.
i'd actually prefer reproduction to a real one. they're old bags, who knows where they've been, they'd be dirty, smelly, n possibly unsturdy (being so old they could be falling apart/rusty). I'd say it's better to get a reproduction. but then maybe that's just me.
I have an original ... they're actually pretty sturdy.
With a handwash and some good rinsing 'they clean up good.' There's a bit of inside strands which come loose, otherwise, they're fine.

Ditto on that...'recycled' two myself...and even the one I thought wouldn't make it is still hanging tough. Oh, and still completely waterproof, oddly enough. (I get the feeling that if I cut it up and eat it I'd die of something horrible.)Spooky wrote:I have an original ... they're actually pretty sturdy.
