pecard on aldens question??

Post by Mat Cauthon »

How often should I put products on the aldens. I just got mine in the mail so should I order some pecards and put it on right away? Also will pecards help take the sound of the leather rubbing together on the upper part of the Boot?

Thanks for the help

Brendon

P.S. Would Red Wing shoe care products work as well as Pecards because I have a Redwing shoe store in town and that is better than ordering stuff off the internet.

The leather dressing that Red Wing sells is made by Pecard's, I believe. It comes in a small tub and is yellow with a look and consistency of vaseline.

I started putting brown Pecards on my 405's about a week after I started wearing them daily. Still wear them daily, BTW, and they still feel and are holding up great. I didn't like the red brick color they were and they are now a very nice brown (about 9 months now, with Pecards every 2 weeks).

I found that using Pecards on the tongue of the boot and the leather facing where the eyelets are really helps with the 'squeak squeak' noise.
