I don't think that really is a lot of brim, Fedora. Especially the second pic. The first one is quite distorted, and IMO, not a very good pic to make a reference. The second one is better. Here's a pic of me in mine.

Thanks, Strider. Weird, isn't it! When Fedora heard the dimensions I wanted, he kinda freaked , but I told him that they look right on me, so he went ahead and cut it that way. After he did the brim, he said that he just couldn't get used to it being so narrow,,but as you just said, you can't tell that it's even been trimmed at all!
It took some trial and error to find this out. I cut the brims on the other hats myself, and I kept taking off little amounts until it looked right on me. Twas quite a bit chopped off the brim by the time I was thru .
I'm glad I got an AB from Fedora now, as hopefully he now has my dimensions on record for future reference,,right, Fedora?(I hope )

That brim width looks ok, and I am surprised by it. I erred on the safe side, and cut it 2 3/8 instead of the 2 1/4. I think I erred correctly. On your face this looks good, and you could even get by with a 2 1/2, IMHO, but that would be the max for you, again, IMHO. I am plesantly surprised by the outcome, and learned something here. Fedora

That has got to be the coolest workspace wallpaper ever! We're studying Egyptian art in AP Art History right now...Egyptology is so interesting!
Fedora, kudos on another beautiful lid! The swoop of the brim and the tilt of the hat are absolutely dead on! I can't wait to finally get my own! (I'm at the 5 week mark! YAY!
TR, 2 1/4" brim looks great on you! I only have one vintage fedora with a 2 1/4" and it's an absolute minimum on me personally.
Thanks. Cheap as dirt on ebay, painted on real papyrus and mailed to ya straight from Egypt. I was surprised with the great colors and the price of these things. I bought enough to cover the 4 walls of my hat shop, but only got around to doing part of it. It does make great wallpaper for an Indy hatshop! Pretty sweet. Maybe I should get some for my dorm room when I go to college...Can you request to have C3P0 and R2D2 painted in there somewhere? (just kidding...)Fedora wrote:Thanks. well, it arrived today
bad news is i think ups wanted to help me with the SOC bash that i requested....the box that it came in was almost folded in half (i never liked ups . i'd get my packages in better condition if i asked all of the vendors to tie the box to a moving semi truck headed for canada). its not fedora's fault because the box was marked 'fragile' on all sides! that must stand for "please put this on the bottom of a bunch of heavy $h!t!!!" in courier-esel
the good news is that because of the superior materials and craftsmanship, the hat got massaged back to full health. i think just a little bit more tweaking and i'll have it just the way i want it.....
