Giving this a bump with some new photos.

I was watching Last Crusade, and I thought that I would shape my AB into the LC shape for the fun of it, and back to Raiders. The whole transition took like ... 5 seconds. Wonderful thing, the AB. Crusade on the left, Raiders on the right. And no, I didn't take the Raiders pic first!

Thank you guys, nonetheless there's still some taper there unfortunately

I'm still looking for a good size box to send it to steve for another reblock he offered me but i might even sell it... i'm tempted by the dark side (also called "need of money" ).
Well anyone interested can send me a PM with his offer while i find an appropriate box for it  otherwise i'll send it for a reblock to Steve.

Steve my friend, i hope you don't mind.

Anyway for the pleasure of gearheads... here a picture for ya

Erri, if you sell your hat, you'll only buy another one in the future. If you're tight on money, just scrimp elsewhere for the time being and hold on to yur hat. That's the one thing I never understood about Pagey, he'd buy something, then sell it, then buy another, then sell it, then buy another... As far as I know, he's still doing it. Sounds like an eventual waste of money by the time you add up all the taxes and shipping over time.

I just don't see how the hat in the above pic needs a reblock or anything else, except to be worn with pride. :D

The hat is 59  I'm 58 but now with not short hair 59 is very fine to me. 58 is now too fitting. My next hat will surely be a 59

I took it from an high angle so you can't see it but it is a wee tapered.

Here are some shots of my Adventurebilt out in the field at Felicita Park in Escondido. Now Fedora can see where his hat went. I'm posting links, because these look better if they aren't resized.

Wow... lookin' good guys and gals. Strider I think your hat looks good in both styles. Are you wearing it in the LC bash then switching to ROTLA or were ya just foolin' about and always wear it Raiders style? I like that brim treatment you have in the LC mode. Erri you should keep that lid it looks great to me and suits you well. Canyon that hat looks great and looks great on you... glad your in the AB club now! :D

I always wear the hat in the Raiders style, but can switch it over to LC whenever I want. See, like 3thoubucks has taken a close look at the Raiders hat, I have done so with the Crusade hat. With the Adventurebilt, it's easy to go back and forth.

Sure was. :D I love the Saloon there.
I know what you mean. I was out there this past June for a wedding at Gold Canyon Resort. We stopped at Goldfield one day on the way to Tortilla Flat.

BTW your shots of Sedona in the other thread are very cool.

man i cant wait to go visit some sites with my gear. Alot of places like the aztec temple and others, are going to be shutting down in the near future, just because of wear and tear to the sites. I went to a lecture about it at my school.

They have said that about Machu Picchu (an Inca site) in Peru for awhile, but I can't imagine the Peruvian government shutting it down, as it provides just too many tourist dollars. But you can see where some of the walls are starting to come apart, due we were told, to the 2500+ tourists that visit there everyday.

Hey all!

It's been a looong time since I've posted and I couldn't believe this thread! All of the amazing AB's.

Here's my vintage AB. It's well into its second winter and I had to do the mirror in the bathroom trick. I reversed all of the pics and they didn't come out too bad.

Modern Jones,

I really like the new photos as well as the photos on the 1st page of the thread. The photo of you and your son in the snow is fantastic. There are a lot of amazing ABs on this link but yours is my favorite. I even talked to Steve about getting the exact same color as yours but he explained about yours being a vintage felt that he had back then.

You wear it well! :D

Fantastic Looking hat MJ, the colour and shape is great, is the felt thicker than the modern *Felt* AB, or can you tell?

EDIT: Added *felt* because at first I assumed it was vintage as in old AB, rather than vintage material... After Reading GMANN's post I realized I misunderstood...

Ok, I'm lost. What is a "vintage" Adventurebilt? Is this to imply that it is one of the first few made, or is it made out of a vintage felt? Thanks for any info. And Moden Jones, that hat looks like a million bucks.

From what Steve told me over the pnone it was Vintage felt, Rabbit or a Rabbit blend.
