Wow! It looks like I'm re-living a near-death experience I had a few years back. Tennessee, were sent to send me back to Earth?Tennessee Steinmetz wrote:Here's a shot with my Fed IV Deluxe from out in our front yard as the sun was setting:
I really liked the sepia look for this one. It did make it hard to distinguish the sun from the rest of the sky. And in a way it looks like the sun rays are really just strange stripes on my coat. But I still like it.
I agree. Ive been having thoughts of trimming about an eighth from the brim of my III but I cant work up the courage just yet to do it.jkdbuck76 wrote:For instance, I love the brim dims on the Fed IV, but at my size (62), the crown looks a bit muffiny. But the crown is JUST RIGHT on the Fed III, but the brim is just way too big.

Ive found that my Fed III's crown and brim are relatively huge, even compared to my Fed IV, which I feel is perfectly suited to my face and head. If and when I have to reblock it, I know that I'll have enough material to work with. All that being said, at this point I wont cut a brim on a fedora unless its at least 3 inches. I agree with you - anything less and Im bordering on not enough brim, especially when needing enough material for a slightly shrunken hat that needs a reblock.jkdbuck76 wrote:Bugs,Indiana Bugs wrote:I agree. The only thing you need to consider is that you might need that 1/8" when you re-block the Fed III. That's the only thing that has kept me from cutting my Fed III Regular...SOME DAY I'm going to have it reblocked.
Nice. That close up looks like Keanu Reeves in an Indy Fedora, lolBardoon wrote:Joining the ranks!!!! First bash ever!

Ever since I heard that Steve Delk was talking with hats direct about a new block shape for the FedIV I was excited. And after seeing so many of them on this thread and the overwhelming praise they recieved I knew it ws the lid for me. I had found myself sans hat after both my prized and beloved AB and HJ were destroyed by my roommates dog. Life really had no meaning for me without my hat, and after dreaming and drooling for over a year with nothing to cover my head with I was able to finally squirrel away enough to buy a new lid. I'm extremely pleased with my new Fed IV deluxe! The perfect balance of affordability, quality, and durability. At the end of the day I can't wait to ditch my fire helmet and replace it with my FedIV. Thanks for all the great pics and reviews boys. It really helped alot!

Yeah Arch, they've been talking about this in various Threads around the boards, including THIS one:Arch Stanton wrote:I was walking down the street in "Old Town" and saw THIS! I nearly wet my pants. I knew nothing about this nor even knew it existed. I looked online to see its other tour locations and this appears to be the only venue in North America. Needless to say I was too busy with my subpar previous "plans" to see it that day, but I am heading back down there Sunday to check it out.
