Ordered my toddscostumes.com bag strap & whip holder

Post by Indiana Jackson »

Ordered my toddscostumes.com bag strap & whip holder. After reading a few posts I called todd & spoke with his wife since he was on a business trip buying leather & etc. She got todd on the other line & I asked about the strap thickness & buckle slipping & he said to set the buckle where you wanted & put a dot of hot glue to hold it in place. He said a thicker strap would cause it to bow up at the buckle. I asked that the strap be as thick as the WPG bag straps. I liked the whip holder. creative. Its not 100% accurate, but witout looking close it looks pretty good & its adjustable. :D

Congrats indeed - I got the whip holder from Todd some months ago, and it's great! When attached, most of the velcro is hidden behind the whip & belt - looks OK, even up close. And, most important, it keeps that whip where it's supposed to be...

Which bagstrap did you get - the regular or De luxe?

I got their buckle for their bag. Lemme tell you, these guys are so awesome to work with. They were the nicest to email and they responded so fast. I attached it to my thick ol strap and had no slippage whatsoever. I don't know what ounce leather they use though.

I got Todd's deluxe strap and the midwest gloves he has. everything was shipped and recieved within a week. I had a little problem with strap thickness to if you read Swindiana's post about how to stop the buckle from sliding. I just took an extra piece of leather and put it over the current strap and sent a chicago screw through it and it doesnt slide at all anymore. You cant see it either since its behind the outer part of the strap. I was going to order another and ask for it to be thicker but mine is holding up pretty good now. Im happy i found the old post with the link to his site. Both Todd and his wife were really nice considering i only spoke with them through email.
When i get a whip i'll definitly get my whip holder from him. Its funny since i wanted the whip first and ended up getting the wpg bag and the whip had to go on hold.

I ordered a bag strap and whip holder from him as well(since I'm still waiting since December from another source). He and Ann are nice people to deal with.

I don't know if they still have it, but they offered me straps for $10 since there was a defect in the leather. I chose to wait for the better one.

Sorry, it was my fault. I used to live in Decatur and all my family was from there. I just had to check and make sure he wasn't from Auburn.

I'm happy to say that I just put in my order for a WPG bag and Todd's strap. I'm thrilled because after countless years of perusing IndyGear (since elementary school, and now I am a college sophomore. However, I am new to the forum though), I'm finally glad to say that with those two purchases, my quest for Indy gear has begun!!! :D :D :D

P.S. Hah hooray for Alabama :D

I have two deluxe straps from Todd's. The 65" is much darker than the 72" I got later because I did not think the 65 was long enough. (the bag hung to high and the buckle was too low) The 72" is perfect for me and I am 6'0. Anyway, I also noticed on the 72 that the strap is just a tad bit wider than the buckle. It is very snug, but the buckle does not slide and there is no noticeable bow at the buckle.

P.S. Go Gators!

I just got my Todd's in this past week, and it was very dark to begin with, and after I Pecard'd it, it became EXTREMELY dark. I still love it, it's just not SA Raiders (especially with the barely-there grooves).

What I'm thinking of doing is when I get an original MkVII (I have the WPG repro), I'm going to buy the Magnoli strap (medium brown with grooves) with the roller buckle and just switch buckles from the other strap, so my Todd's strap will have the roller buckle and it will be my post-Raiders strap, while the Magnoli will have Todd's buckle and it will be my Raider's strap.
