Hello friends, I would like to create a thread about LuosJiet boots, take advantage of reading your comments and experience mainly to create a table with the sizes and correlation with your daily use shoes. The idea is to help those who have not yet bought their boots and can do so safely.
Who starts?
Here’s a boot review video and their website. Personally I’ve never heard of them, so I can offer no information or suggestions. The only post I can find regarding them was from last December, so they’re not getting much attention.
Ok, then I guess I am the first one to post the experience with these shoes.
It doesn’t matter which “style” you choose, they are all the same.
I chose the Brown Grain Cowhide style as I pursue the Raiders style.
My size is 42.5. I own Converse Chucks in same size which match my feet perfectly.
Hence I chose the Luisjiets with same size - according to the fit sheet.
The Lousjiets are pretty comfy and wide.
They never cause foot fatigue.
I think I could have chosen half of size less and they would still fit.
The only issue I had was that the leather rubs against the foot at one point - see picture attached which causes pain and hurts.
I tried with thicker socks but that did not help.
However, once the feet healed the situation improved.
I guess the feet need to adjust and the leather to break in.
I’ll post how my shoes look like now.
I have never washed them or applied anything for protection as I want to achieve a used look.
As for the price I paid ~40€ in addition to the original price because of the custom fees to Germany, where I live.
So far I recommend them.
They are definitely a very good alternative for the heavily overpriced Aldens which cost more than 3 times more in Germany.
In 2021, I bought the boots from an Aliexpress seller (I'm sure they are the same manufacturers) according to their tables and the queries I made to the seller's chat, my size was 43, however when they arrived in my hands, they looked like a size 42. The leather and the workmanship of those ankle boots were fabulous, beautiful and at a good price ($110 USD), but since they were of no use to me I sold them to a friend, my bad luck was his gain. https://imgur.com/a/b1Utrnb

Yours don't appear to be the same shoes at all.....Similar, but different enough to clearly stand aside

Sorry for repplying to a old thread but I also got a friction wound like you on the ankle. Didi you just soldier through it or did you put something inside your boots? I'm trying to find a way to get over it my self.
I purchased a pair of the LuosJiet boots a few months ago. Upon initially putting them on, they felt very comfortable except for the stiff leather rubbing just above my ankles. To solve that, I used some leather conditioner and used a shoe horn to "spread" the top of the boots out so they will both soften up and "reform" not so close together like they were when I pulled them out of the box. It worked.
Fast forward to May 02 (a couple of weeks ago from this writing). I wore the boots to my graduation at The Citadel in Charleston, SC. I not only wore them all day on campus and through the graduation, but walked in downtown Charleston afterwards to eat supper. I was in those boots from about 8:00AM - 11:00PM and they performed amazingly. I had no sores, no bruises, and no rubbing. I didn't wear thick socks - I wore thin dress socks. They were an amazing boot to wear and I put some miles on them that day. If I wasn't walking, I was standing. And I felt great when my day was done!
After my experience with wearing them in Charleston, I can honestly say that they were a very good investment. I've never owned a pair of Alden's, so I can't do a comparison with them. I have owned a pair of Todd's (maybe 16 years ago?) and I can honestly say that the LuosJiet's outperformed them. Compared to the many other dressier shoes/boots that I've owned, the LuosJiet's have been moved to the Top 5 on my list of excellent shoes that I've owned. They paired great with my khaki's and navy blazer as well as held up on the campus of The Citadel. And they performed exceptionally well while walking the streets of Charleston. Again, I wasn't sore afterwards and I had no rubbing.
At this point, they are exceeding my expectations and I have no regrets buying them. I'll continue to wear them and look at providing an update in about a year from now.
