Hi. I have an old Stetson I tried to reshape into a more indy like hat so I wonder if it could pass as one now? The crown is quiet low and the für is a bit To soft to handle steaming well but I gave it a try with only a little steam and some distilled water on a bottle.Original it had a teardrop crown and the shape was a bit to common for my taste.Gotta have something to do when recovering from the flu
Great job on the reshaping, my friend. The crown is maybe a tad too short, but it looks very Indy-ish to me. And it suits you very well. Also liking the warm brown of the felt.
It definitely has the makings of one. To the every day/casual fan I think it would pass. To a gear head, they'd probably pick at inconsistencies or go after what look you're trying to achieve.
But folks have reconfigured plenty of Stetsons. I think it's fine.
Thanks all Now if I only could get my stubborn Miller hats from the underworld to hold a shape...The though of it not being able to hold a reshape makes my inner perfectionist so annoyed but I guess some wars can't be won
Side dents seem to be my kryptonite in hats
