Pants and Shirt

Post by Zendragon »

Ok boys and girls, I haven't been around for a while and I am back for a bit, looking to update my gear a little. Question (opens can) about shirts and pants.

I currently have shirt and pants from LL Bean and wanted to upgrade to something a little better. What are my options and what are your suggestions? Thanks!

I have two pair of the Wested pants and they are great. In fact they are so comfy I find I wear them the most. I have a custom Indy shirt from Mrs Deadlock but she vanished off the board. I'm looking to get a Magnoli shirt and another pair of Wested pants soon.

Cheers,
Jeff

More info on the Walmart pants? I really like the LL Beans, a more authentic pant would look nicer :)

Don't get me wrong they are really great pants, just remember like the thread says, two inches longer to make the back pocket flaps. Illinois

They look like they could definitely work well. I have 3 pair of LL Beans, I really would like to get into some of the more screen accurate options that are out there now.

I think the upgrade from the LL Bean pants would be the Westeds.

Other pants make fine 'close enoughs' (with alterations) but Zendragon did say upgrade... Wested is the way to go.

Thanks! Any special notes I should make when ordering/measuring?

I do not think anything special is required. I purchased mine 2nd hand and the stated size fit fine.
Good Luck!

I ordered min in the size I normaly wear, unhemmed. I then took them to a local BCF and had them hem them the way I like. Great fitting pants.

If you're looking for an upgrade from LL Bean, I’d recommend checking out GMA Deals and Steals Today (https://www.dealsandstealstoday.com/) Duluth Trading Co. for both shirts and pants. Their gear is practical and tough, especially if you’re into outdoor activities. Their Flexpedition pants are a great blend of durability and comfort, with a bit of stretch that makes them flexible without wearing out too quickly. For shirts, their Armachillo line is ideal cooling fabric that's especially useful in warmer weather. Both have held up for me through hikes and everyday wear. Also, if you’re open to investing a bit more, Filson offers durable options that last forever, though they’re on the pricier side.

Since it's been 19 years since the first post, I would like to think he has found something good to wear by now! :D
