Indy Style Backpack

Post by tmfg10 »

Hello Everyone! I hope you are doing great!
So it’s that time of life when my trusty laptop backpack is dying after years of faithful service. I was wanted to ask if you know of any high quality brands that have a “Indy style” backpack? Hopefully has that "adventurer" look but with the protection and practicality of modern backpacks for laptop. That has a laptop pocket that is well protected, water resistant and overall a good quality backpack that I can use for moving around my laptop and also for everyday use and occasional adventures haha. |And of course that looks good in everyday situation and also maybe while cosplaying Indy. More important for everyday use since for cosplaying I have the satchel for that haha but still.

I have found some but they are completely out of budget for me at the moment. since is kind of a immediate purchase because I will be going to move a lot for work soon I don't have time to save for a super cool one.
Frost River has some cool ones -> https://frostriver.com/collections/computer-packs
But I am looking for something hopefully under $150 and ideally under $120. I don't know how good is that of a budgets for a good backpack.
Do you have any recommendations?
Thank you!

My first thought was Frost River...

The challenge of finding a computer friendly, Indy style backpack is most canvas backpacks (Indy style) won't have internal laptop sleeves. Or as you have found, not within the price range you are looking. You may want to look for the backpack and a modern laptop sleeve separately. That's how I transport my laptop in the Frost River Geologist pack.

I bought this backpack on allegro (Polish ebay) for about 40 bucks:

It has an internal laptop pocket and it's very comfortable to wear. It's my everyday carry when I go to work and I can't recommend it enough.

And it has all the Indy vibes I need in a backpack :TOH:

I have been using this one since 2019 and it's served me very well: https://amateurphotographer.com/field-t ... ck-review/

I'm not sure if they available new anymore, but I saw one on eBay for $125. Good bags. :TOH:

I second the Nat Geo bag Magnoli posted. I’ve used the same one for just over a year, and I love it. You can still find them pretty easily with an online search. It has padded sleeves for a laptop, camera gear, and various pockets for other essentials you may need. Plus, it fits under an airline seat with no problem!
