My first Indy jacket- S&J in thin horsehide

Post by Velahrn »

Hello

I just want to share my very first Indy jacket - Calzadora '36 (so the Raider version) from Steele&Jones. Made from thin horsehide - very soft and comfortable leather, also, it smells wonderful. Unfortunately, when I checked the S&J today, they don't mention the horsehide anymore.

Contact with thr makers is superb. The fit is great also, but I ordered mock-up jacket first to be 100 % sure.

Shipping from Argentina to Poland - no problems, and only about ~15 USD in customs!

Also, you can see my bespoke Indy pants and the bag from Magnoli Clothiers.

That looks great, congratulations! An amazing choice for a first jacket.

I also really like your boots. :TOH:

Looks great. I can't see the pics clearly enough to notice if you had it pre-distressted. :-k

It’s the best hide in the inventory in my personal opinion. Have one in the 38 pattern. Good stuff!

Yours is a beauty!

Nice to know that There is another one from S&J in Poland. My Cazadora 35 was made in 2017 and i have it with me even today. The hide is albo horse, dark chocolate skin. Very Soft and light. Unfortunatelly i never post pictures of that jacket here. I'll try to fix that very soon.

Btw. Excellent jacket that one of yours.

No, I asked them to not make a distress at all.

It looks awesome! You have chosen wisely :TOH:

S&J's horsehide looks totally different from the Wested's horsehide I had long time ago. That jacket was built like a tank and it felt like an armour.

If you want to meet in Warsaw sometime and drink a beer, chat and check out other gear we have and crack some whips, then let me know :H:

That hide REALLY makes me wish S&J would do a half-belt vintage styled jacket

Congrats on a beautiful jacket! Indiego and crew do it again!

Beautiful. I've always loved the idea of a horsehide Indy jacket but none of the examples I'd seen looked right. This is awesome.
