Show us your Magnoli suits/blazers/tuxedos!
It's been a few years since I made a major Indygear purchase, but just did yesterday. For years, I've been wanting to get my favorite piece of Dr. Jones's professor gear: his 3-piece professor suit from Last Crusade. Now that I'm teaching full-time in a postdoctoral position, I'm wearing suits and blazers regularly. With possible job interviews for more long-term positions coming up, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on my first tailored suit: Magnoli's Barnett suit. Now the waiting begins...
So, help me out with the wait by showing me your Magnoli suits, blazers, and/or tuxedos! Anyone else out there with a Barnett suit? How about your Marshall suit, your Venice Pier suit, your Washington/Sea Plane suit? Your Pankot Palace blazer? Your Club Obi-Wan Shanghai tuxedo? Whether or not you posted them elsewhere, post them together in this thread devoted to Magnoli's professor gear. And hopefully I'll be posting mine before too long.

Definitely a classic! Looks like you have the Magnoli bow tie, too? That's one of my favorites and in frequent rotation.

I was hoping to see some of your Magnoli attire, Jeff--and what a great photo of you and your bride! If memory serves, you also have the Pankot professor tweed jacket, correct? How have these all been holding up for you?Indiana Jeff wrote:Shanghai jacket worn with my Bride at the Army 241st Anniversary Ball.

Those TOD tux jackets look amazing. I have long wanted one. I do, however, have a Pankot bow tie and, Nebraska S. is right, I wear it all the time.

Thanks. I get compliments every time I wear it.
I have the bow tie from Mags, but not my jacket. I have a number of his ties and really have to add the Iskenderun. The dinner jacket is my only dress piece from Magnoli. My others are outer wear jackets.

Re: Show us your Magnoli suits/blazers/tuxedos!
Looks great!!! I really like the the color of that fabric, but I think the color and weight of the super 140s in camel will "suit" me better. Thank you for sharing!Indy Magnoli wrote:Added some Barnett Suit photos to this thread: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=64863&p=884383#p884383" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

On a somewhat related note, I created another thread for a "close-enough" shirt for the Barnett Suit:

Now I have the shirt, tie, shoes, and hat--I'm just waiting for the suit to arrive from Magnoli in a few weeks...

You'll LOVE it! Just don't go asking to see the catacombs.... you'll sound like Pee-Wee Herman asking about the basement of the Alamo!

Thank you all!
And Indy, we were right on the sleeves--I wouldn't go even an half inch shorter.
I have a public lecture coming up in a couple of weeks and plan to wear this for the occasion. I hope to get photos taken during the lecture to better show this *in action* and better lighting. I'll let you know if I decide to write a review of the suit, too, but I will say my initial impressions are very good.
Best wishes,
Dr. Nebraska S.

Reviving this old thread so that we don't get off-topic in another thread. Here are some photos with my Magnoli LC Barnett College suit at a presentation:
One with my AB CS:
Added a trench coat and Dead Sea Scrolls bow tie in this one (from a conference--had to get a photo with my book):
Best wishes,

Dead Sea Scrolls bow tie, eh? Where might one find something like that? I didn't see it on Magnoli's site so is it from somewhere else?Dr. Nebraska S. wrote: ↑Mon Sep 05, 2022 10:18 amAdded a trench coat and Dead Sea Scrolls bow tie in this one (from a conference--had to get a photo with my book):

Re: Show us your Magnoli suits/blazers/tuxedos!
That’s through the Dead Sea Scrolls Foundation. I think you can view them online but in the last several years I’ve just gotten them at academic conferences for ASOR and AAR/SBL.Ranger36 wrote:Dead Sea Scrolls bow tie, eh? Ooh, that's cool! Thank you. Would be perfectly nerdy enough for this archaeologist. Something to wear at the SAAs if I could find one haha.
