Re: The Fed 4 block shape and styles
Don’t mind the weird face lol these were screenshots of a video I took for snap chat concentrating on getting in all the weird angles of the hat lol
I think the fed 4 deluxe is an amazing hat! I gave mine a Cairo bash.
The only thing that bugs the @#$% out of me about this hat is that the brim was cut 2cm two short front and back and 1cm too short on the sides. Drives me crazy since I have OCD on this stuff but overall I think the hat looks great on and can’t really tell in most angles the brim is a tad short.
What do you guys think?

Yeah, the Fed's dimensions are best for a ToD/LC style. It can work ok as a Raiders, especially if the wearer is somewhat smaller, which is why my Raiders-bashed Fed is more of a Raven Bar style. But you've got the SOC bash down and it looks good and will look better as you break it in and develop some flop in the felt.

Thank you! I feel like the more I have it on the less it will annoy me I got a slightly too short brim lolIllinois_Jones wrote:Yeah, the Fed's dimensions are best for a ToD/LC style. I particularly love the angle here
Deep dent and crown shape can take it.
When I get my Herbert Johnson that they put the shape into I feel I’ll have to make a lot of modifications.

Liking the Moonstone.
Akubra always had a problem getting a decent gray hat in this line up.
I think they a great job with this one.

Yeah, the moonstone is great. I just wish they had one in between that and the carbon gray. Living in Florida though the moonstone makes the most sense. I do find the brown one the most versatile of the two. Makes me want to get a tawny colored one if only I had the funds right now!

Re: The Fed 4 block shape and styles
Just wanted to post a picture of my new moonstone. The brim’s still a work in progress but the crown came out really well! Not sure if this one or my brown is my favorite, moonstone is very handsome but the brown seems slightly more versatile and laidback.

I have been lurking this forum for the past couple of weeks and I just wanted to thank all the members! This forum is great! Here is my humble contribution of a newly acquired fed IV deluxe. Just a non steamed bash at the moment

My Last Crusade style Fed 4 Deluxe on a hike in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. For whatever reason I think the Fed really lends itself to the Crusade style. Also, it was good fun to hike around a little rapids!
