My David Morgan Last Crusade whip (edit, necropost)
Hey guys,
Just want to show you my ''LC'' DM 8' 12 plait natural roohide.
Shorter thicker handle with a slight taper, thicker thong, ringknot and turkshead is spot on, etc. I think it pulls off the LC look pretty well
( the flash brings out alittle more darkness in the whip but not much really)
thanks for looking

Re: My David Morgan Last Crusade whip
looks like this one that was auctioned off.
it would be a deadringer for the whip above except for the condition of the fallhitch/fall.

89? Collectdin had an 89 and the dimensions were very close to that one...Holt wrote:thanks. I will see if I can post some outside photos when I have the time.

But he had 10ft bullwhip, not 8ft.
Great purchase Holt! Can you make some comparison shots with your Pagey whip? And maybe a video?

I wasn't saying that holt had the whip, I was just saying that the way the handle looked, the way the heel was shaped, and thetomek9210 wrote:But he had 10ft bullwhip, not 8ft.

Re: My David Morgan Last Crusade whip
Ahhh, sorry for mistake. I was in hurry when I was reading your post.
What I don't like in this bullwhip is twisted buttknot. I like when wrist loop is like on that photo iwantamorganreelbad1 posted and not twisted 90 degrees or even less like on Holt's whip.
Anyway, awesome find, great shape for such a piece of history!

Re: My David Morgan Last Crusade whip
That screen used whip is awesome, awesome, awesome. The best looking Morgan I have ever seen. It's in excellent shape, even the section before fall hitch looks tight and that whip is older than me.

It is the best condition screen used whip I've ever seen, by "screen used" they probably had it hang in his belt for a scene or twotomek9210 wrote:That screen used whip is awesome, awesome, awesome. Never seen that screen used whip before. looks like to have a short handle. 5'' long between the knots?lelec2 wrote: Screen used bullwhip:

Re: My David Morgan Last Crusade whip
5" between the knots on an 8" handle is actually pretty standard. The true length, at max about be 5.5-6" , but you know howHolt wrote:Never seen that screen used whip before. looks like to have a short handle. 5'' long between the knots?lelec2 wrote: Screen used bullwhip:

Morgan likes his handles looking short. Dusty Damrel actually has 5.5" between his two knots.
Also, Terry Jacka, on his indy whips, uses an 7" handle foundation, for the knots to be truly 5" apart, with them being at the
ends of the handle, that's how long it would be.
On my latest whip, it had an 8" handle foundation, but I set up the bellies so that when I ended the diamonds at the bulge, it
has about 5" between the knots.
Re: My David Morgan Last Crusade whip
here is more or less the real color of the whip. This is what I see when looking at it in natural daylight. shown with the 'original' stunt grail.

Hey buddy,
are you sure that's not a "screen used" whip .
Best #### LC style I've seen for a long time.
Cheers,
JTW.

Re: My David Morgan Last Crusade whip
That was incredibly nice looking whip Holt. Good luck with finding it again!
To confuse LC whips fans these are some LC promo shots showing that the whip didn't have short and thick handle:
https://bricksafe.com/files/tomek9210/w ... mo%204.png" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
https://bricksafe.com/files/tomek9210/w ... mo%202.png" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I don't post photos here, because the resolution is pretty high and I don't want to ruin it.

Re: My David Morgan Last Crusade whip (edit, necropost)
Yeah, how come short handle LC is the norm?
Re: My David Morgan Last Crusade whip (edit, necropost)
DM changed his whips slightly over the years. The handles got thicker and shorter for example. I have a DM from late 90's, the handle on it is 4.5" between the knots so 0.5" shorter than a LC.IJJTM wrote:Yeah, how come short handle LC is the norm?
