They did the same thing a few months ago, isn’t that like 10 times more than most hats have done?

Yeah they even list the sale price of the Raiders hat on that page!

I can't see how it would be worth ten times more than the hat. He is 'the man with the hat' after all, there are plenty of 'men with the gun' in cinema!

Do we know how much Propstore sold it for?

The Raiders Fedora went for about $451,000. I have no idea who they're kidding trying to sell the gun for that much.

They listed it before didn't they and it clearly didn't sell. Perhaps they're just seeing what offers they get. I can't see it moving unless they just happen to meet a random billionaire fan and you'd have thought that person might have already appeared if they existed.

Well I mean this gun: it looks like Propstore sold it previously. As you say, I can't believe the gun went for as much as the hat did, let alone this price.

I think I'm right in saying that the last Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger to sell at auction didn't even go for that much(!!). And that's an actual fullsize classic car which would be worth close to £1m even if it wasn't in a movie, and is one of the most famous movie props ever. They must have a typo on the price, surely?

EDIT: here you go, Propstore valued it at £40,000 - £60,000 in 2018 (even that seems a bit ambitious! :) ). It didn't sell then; I wonder if they were selling it for this owner?

Serial numbers dont match. The main page lists it as: 39871. The seller at auction as: 37891.

Which would appear to be a typo rather than a different gun, no?

For $5M, I doubt it would sell for more than that, if it is authentic.

Another semi-related thread. KramStaar mentioned it previously sold for around $50,000.

That's odd because the listing page says it was unsold:

Yeah, who knows. Mark may be able to weigh in.

As long as it's been on Gunbroker, I betcha the current seller would consider a $50K offer regardless. :BD:

On the Gear/ Guns page, when it’s describing Bapty, it supposes that it has had a barrel swap to a later, thinner barrel.

I don’t think that’s correct.

A Model of 1950 barrel wouldn’t have a .455 caliber mark on the side as the HE would; and, if you look carefully at the hi-res photos, you can see that the serial number on the bottom of the barrel (above the extractor rod, only seen when the cylinder is open), it matches the serial number on the butt.

I believe it’s the original barrel.
