Todd's Shirts 2020 Run
I just got an email from Todd's Costumes saying they're doing a new run of shirts and they're up for preorder. It looks like they're OTR sizes, but priced at $125 a pop! My original Todd's shirt was my favorite Indy shirt, back in the day, but I'm not sure what they're doing with these shirts that makes them $125...

Re: Todd's Shirts 2020 Run
Most likely it’s because of the number of shirts he’s ordering.
He got a bit burned when he started stocking Indy stuff right after CS. He tied up a ton of capital in inventory to keep the prices down, but then the initial craze died down and it took him forever to clear the inventory and recoup his investment.

Indiana Jeff

Re: Todd's Shirts 2020 Run
These shirts are going to be made in house, in the USA. Maybe the only Indy shirt to be so .
The only Indy shirt I've ever LOVED was my Todd's, because the material wasn't dressy. If this was a custom shirt, I might sign up for it, otherwise my long torso and long arms don't need another OTR shirt that I can't tuck in.

Ah, that makes sense. That combined with them being made domestically seems to line up. I was wondering why he didn’t have any Indy stuff the last few years! I guess it’s not as popular as it was. They are nice shirts...Indiana Jeff wrote:Most likely it’s because of the number of shirts he’s ordering. He got a bit burned when he started stocking Indy stuff right after CS. Would be interesting to see a comparison of this version with Azuma's shirts.

I’ll be interest in seeing one in hand when someone gets one.
125.00 is pricey, similar to a custom IM

I was thinking the same - it's quite a bit more expensive than an OTR Magnoli, and almost as much as a custom one. You figure at that range, you might as well get a custom one.Indiana Croft wrote:I’ll be interest in seeing one in hand when someone gets one.

Or wait for the next Azuma.
Even now buying through his Etsy account you pay a little more with shipping, still less.
But Todd is very meticulous about what he sells.
May get once I can build up some excess in my PayPal

Feel like I'm a broken record here, but can someone suggest that for $125, we at least get an accurate button count? Six buttons; not seven. Such an obvious detail that almost everyone overlooks.
Six buttons is period accurate to the 1930s.
Seven-button shirts didn't come along until the 70s or 80s.

Wasn’t Harrison’s shirt made in the 70’s or 80’s, when they were making the costumes? Was his shirt really period accurate?schwammy wrote:Feel like I'm a broken record here, but can someone suggest that for $125, we at least get an accurate button count? Six buttons; not seven. Obviously, yes, it was tailored in 1979. And it was tailored to look like a 1930s shirt.

Re: Todd's Shirts 2020 Run
How is Todd's shirt sizing? True to size? Runs small or large? Any owners of previous shirt runs that could answer would be appreciated. I am usually an xxl or xl and am curious...

Re: Todd's Shirts 2020 Run
I would say true to size with the caveat Indy shirts, Todd's included, are cut to fit slim.

I decided to order one. It's been a long time since I've been around but I've always liked Todd's and I didn't want to pass up a chance at this.

Curse of the short shirt tail. Good name for an adventure. That’s the reason I have a few WPG shirts in my collection. I get my 0TR medium in there long version. I’m only 5 foot eight but the longer sleeves don’t matter since I always roll them up and the shirt tucked in great.Adventure Dog wrote:These shirts are going to be made in house, in the USA. Any other time I’ll generally wear my Azumas. (Because I often go tails out)
