British Pound-US Dollar almost 1 to 1-time to get a Wested?

Post by bigrex »

Hopefully this is OK to post here. I've been watching as of late, and the British Pound vs. the US Dollar is really dropping like a rock. It's almost a 1 to 1 ratio, which means if you're in the market for a Wested, now would be a good time to buy, at least for Americans...(if they aren't shut down for the virus.)

Current Forex chart: https://www.tradingview.com/symbols/GBPUSD/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you click on the 5 yr chart, it was at 1.58 pounds per dollar in 2015...and right now it is at 1.14.

This could also work for a Herbert Johnson.

Hi all, it’s been a while! Hope everyone is well.

The combo of the very favorable exchange rate and me worrying that I need a decent post-apocalypse jacket compelled me to buy myself a Wested Hero in shrunken lambskin (I’ve always wanted a Wested and have owned several second hand jackets that never fit right, so I thought it was time).

Emailed them Friday, they said they are still making jackets and it’s still 7-10 days.
Placed my order Sunday night.

This morning I got a refund and was told that they aren’t able to get hide shipments, so they have to cancel my order, and that they hope I’ll reorder when things are back to normal.

This is like the 5th time I’ve somehow been thwarted in my attempts to own a Wested, haha.

Anyway, thought you would all appreciate this info.

That's a shame that they had to cancel your order. Maybe you could email them and ask them what hides they have in stock that they could actually supply you with a jacket at this time.

A Wested LC Hero in Novapelle would be awesome for me right about now... :-k

During this world lockdown period is very difficult to ship and receive shipping... we have to be patients.

As of a few days ago, custom jackets are back up on wested.com except for shrunken lambskin. They are also running a promotion for 10% off with offer code STAYHOME. As I type this the Pound against the Dollar is back up to 1.24.

Yeah, I really had my heart set on the shrunken lambskin. But no big deal. I’m just surprised that a) they told me Friday that a shrunken lambskin hero would be no problem, and b) that they just refunded my money without asking if I’d like a different hide. But like I said, no big deal.

As did I, but sizing for the shrunken lamb stops at a 46 and I need a 48. Wasn’t meant to be. I know what you mean though, that is a bit frustrating. ](*,)

I was on Wested's website this morning, and the shrunken lambskin Hero is back up on the website. With their current promotion, 6th time might be the charm, Havershaw!
