It came from WPG as well.

That's good that you can get the bag and leather strap, with a good buckle, from the same place. Usually you have to look elsewhere for a decent bag strap once you've got the bag.
I picked up the same combo. Great price for the real deal.
Since this is WWII surplus, a word to the wise: save the original webbing strap. One of the anchors for the side rings had dry rot. I used the strap to make a new one. Well, not exactly new, of course.
I used a hand stitching awl for that "fixed in the field" effect (aka "Frankenstein" sutures).

Agreed, I did the same thing. Good advice. Somewhere on this forum there is info about waxing the cotton, which should strengthen it I would think. Or make it more durable.
Looks great! Nice and green! I always remove the divider panel to make the bag more functional for carrying stuff (a coiled bullwhip fits nicely inside!).
That's GREAT! loving the eyelet on the inside flap. That's one that's sought after I believe. I can't remember which specific scene. I want to say TOD?

Late reply but I think you are thinking about scene from LC when Cross of Coronado is removed from bag on the ship.
