New Cardigan and Scarf

Post by temple_runner »

It's cold here in NC, so I asked for a new cardigan and scarf for winter. I went with the MOTB look here.

Cardigan (100% alpaca wool; made in Peru) is from The Alpaca Shop on eBay and the scarf is 100% cashmere (made in Scotland) from eBay, too.

It's an awesome cardigan. Very warm and seems to be durable, too, so far.

Thanks for the info, Temple Runner! I ordered the MotB gear also! Hopefully the weather will stay cold enough to get some use out of it, along with my forthcoming LC Hero jacket. :TOH:

Now waiting for the new LC Hero from Wested. Meanwhile, everything fits great! Thanks again for the inspiration, Temple Runner! I'd never even thought of getting the MotB gear until I saw your post. :TOH:

+1 for the Alpaca Store cardigan.

Best off-the-rack price/quality/accuracy ratio that I've found in years of searching. Thanks again, TR.

It IS warm! I wore it around the house for a couple hours last night, and it’s comfortably dowdy. Without the Indy gear, it projects a Mr. Rogers vibe, though.

Yep. My only issue with the dark brown is that it's pretty much a single-outfit piece. For my taste, anyway.

Shawl cardigans have a completely different character in almost any other color. Just ask Steve McQueen and Daniel Craig (and even McQueen wore a MOTB clone in The Cincinnati Kid). 8)

You have nailed it, sir! I was searching for a reason why I couldn't bring myself to hit the <Place Order> button, and you have nailed it but good. And this is coming from a great respecter of Mister Rogers. ;)
So we're back in the single digits here, and yesterday we had a sleet storm. But NOW I have my Kelly-green, leather-button, Irish-made, merino wool Aran Island shawl collar cardigan to keep me warm. That, and Missus Nosirrah, who thinks I should dress like Mister Chips, not Mister Rogers-- and thus approves. :)

Since they filmed this in Wyoming in the winter of 1992, I'd almost guarantee that the cardigan and scarf were taken from Harrison Ford's closet at home. It's probably his own personal wardrobe, so it is impossible to source the original manufacturer, which makes the MotB gear open to intepretation. There's really no right or wrong choice, merely close enough. :TOH:
