Hello,

I wanted to share my Indy guns, just got the Stembridge and Bapty back from the gunsmith. I think he did a great job!

Top to bottom: S&W HE commercial 1917, S&W .455 2nd Model HE, Inglis Mk 1* 9mm High Power, and Webley WG Army .455.
(I kept the original barrels for the S&W's based on the advice I got here before anyone has a heart attack!)

What do you think?

Went out to shoot some of my surplus rifle collection today and decided to bring the ole Enfield for some Temple of Doom Fun. It was the only Brit out there but it always holds its own!

Fabulous .303 Enfield and great to see it here.

I've shot those a lot and once you've mastered the bolt action, the only challenge is the recoil because it can be quite robust.

One of my favorite memories of that rifle was from TofD when the British soldiers knell to fire at the Thuggies across the canyon.

One knells directly in front of the camera and fires, the camera looking over his shoulder. He then has problems working his bolt, and keeps fighting the bolt until suddenly all his unfired bullets pop straight up in the air out of the top of the rifle.

They quickly cut to another shot. It happens quickly so you have to be watching for it.

I saw that the first time I watched the film, and since then it's the only thing I watch for when that scene appears.

It's actually very easy to find around here. Always at gun shows, and a few shops around here are really good at keeping the older calibers in stock. In fact when I stopped in one on my way into town they probably 5 different kinds from huntin 303 to surplus. They even keep the myriad of old "west" calibers. Everything from .44-40 to the most obscure obsolete cartridges. So my old bolt guns stay well fed. Heck they even had all the Arisaka ammo which is saying something.

I've always enjoyed watching him struggle with his bolt but never noticed his rounds coming out. That is great I need to look for it! That's what you get when you use an Enfield not yet manufactured in a movie.

My 'close enough' Mauser- it's an 8mm Yugoslavian M.24/47

Bought it at Big 5 years ago, shot maybe five rounds through it. Methinks that needs to change in the near future.

Very nice! I have a German K98 "DOU43". It was my first rifle I ever purchased. They are fun shooters! Mine is a Russian capture so most of the markings are ground off and it has Russian electro stencil marks on it but that all adds to the history I guess!

I can't remember if some of the Cruciform Sword guys carried these or not, but I thought I'd share anyway- my dad got this Beretta M38 9mm subgun (de-milled, dummy receiver) the other day- kinda cool

Interestingly enough, they didn't use it...but Henry Jones Sr did. If I remember correctly they used two of those, inverted for the zeppelin escape plane. I think the Italian dudes had some form of a Schmeisser.

That's right! I had to doublecheck imfdb, but the M38s were mocked up to look like another gun on the biplane. The guns I had wrongly remembered were Schmeissers and Bergmanns. Oops

Ah! A Vaquero!!! LOVE those Ruger's! I'd love to own one.

FYI, that's the favorite revolver used by the stunt actors in the Tombstone, AZ "Helldorado" show. They file down the front sight for easier draw, though.

I got to examine one after the show we saw a few years ago.

What a coincidence! I just received my Umarex Legends C02 BB MP40 this morning!

I will try to take some photos later and get them posted.

I wish I could get the real thing to go along with the rest of my collection but this will have to do for now. cm289 - That American Tactical that you have pictured looks real tempting. Too bad that Hawaii laws would not allow it to be owned here.

That BB gun looks pretty cool though. ATI makes a .22 rifle. I posted it several months ago in this thread- don't know if that'd be an option in Hawaii or not.

The problem here in Hawaii is the 10 round magazine requirement and also that the magazine cannot fit outside of the grip. It is considered an "assault pistol".

Yes the Umarex C02 BB MP40 is very cool. Metal construction so it has the weight of the real thing, blow back action, and it fires fully automatic! Just got to stock up on C02 and BBs.

Recently acquired commercial 1917. I was actually expecting one it rougher shape, but it turns out the listing’s photos really didn’t do its condition justice. So I can’t bring myself to cut the barrel as I’d been meaning to do... and the search continues for a more appropriate donor

The laws for owning firearms in Australia is draconian and as someone who dealt with guns for about 25 years in another country, it can be very frustrating - although the rules are understandable.
Its no easy task but perseverance can pay off and although regretfully I can't say this is a .445 its - for me - a decent enough blend between a Raiders/TOD revolver.

A Pre-Victory .38 ironically manufactured at nearly the same time as Raiders was set. The barrel was - at some stage in the past - cut down to its current 4in but the front sight is one I custom-made for the gun

Nice purchase. I've been hunting around for a deactivated S&W M1917 for some time. Patience and perseverance is the thing. They're not cheap either. Glad you've got your hands on one you're happy with.

Thanks! It was definitely a labor of love, and I wound up putting far more attention to detail into it than I originally intended when I started down this road hahaha. But four m1917’s later, here we are. Haha.
