A better pic with the buckles now installed. I just wish it wasn't so large on me. I measured and remeasured and it still came out too big
in the waist/front and too long all around.

Totally understand it's all subjective, but it looks perfect to me! Nice and comfy!

Looks nice man! I couldn't believe that I always thought it was the D ring until the hi def showed the buckle instead.

I purchased mine from Make It Jones. He makes great stuff, check him out.

I'll second the Make It Jones buckles for replacements. They hold great and no sewing required.

I think I remember reading that the problem with the buckle vs the D ring was that the buckle ends up cutting into leather car seats or something like that...

Actually, that was the sharp cornered 'D' buckle that came on the first USW Legend pattern jackets.
I should know, I was one of the guys who punched a hole in his car seat with one.
Switched it out with a set of rectangular rings from G&B, and it solved the problem.
USW's stopped using that buckle right after that.

This was a fascinating read. I love going through the old threads here, there is so much great info. I just found out my Magnoli jacket has this elastic. I had no idea until I read this and tested my jacket.
