How can I fix my LC fedora brim?
How can I adjust my brim to look more SA? Or does it look normal and I'm just going crazy?
I want it to look like this:

I could be entirely wrong but it looks pretty close to me..... I'm sure Penman or Holt would have a better opinion.

Will look different with it on your head as well. The pressure of your head on the sweatband will pull the brim up the way you want.

That brim looks right on to my eyes!
Re: How can I fix my LC fedora brim?
What kind of hat is it?
To my eyes the brim itself looks alittle too big. At least from the looks of the front brim. The LC hat had a slightly shorter brim.
You could cut it down a half inch or so

I had a Steele & Jones LC as well and the brim was a little too big. I trimmed off 1/4" all the way around & it took on a much more 'LC Indy' look. I'd start with trimming off 1/8" first and see if that doesn't help. You'd be amazed at how cutting that little bit off will change the appearance.

I could do that but I'm afraid I'll screw it up like I did my Akubra. Lol. You think a professional hatter could do that?anindyjones wrote:I had a Steele & Jones LC as well and the brim was a little too big. The right tool and a little skill is needed. Yes to answer your question. What is the brim size front and back?
Re: How can I fix my LC fedora brim?
Also looks like Indy's bend starts pretty close to the bow, your bend is parallel to the front of your head. Maybe try moving it back some?

How do I do that? Steam it and shape it? I want to be careful not to shrink it too.JohnnyD97 wrote:Also looks like Indy's bend starts pretty close to the bow, your bend is parallel to the front of your head. Maybe try moving it back some?

I wouldn't cut the brim, the specs are right. But the LC hat had all different specs almost from scene to scene. What is your head measurements? And can you post a side view without the hat on?

Re: How can I fix my LC fedora brim?
I'm afraid if you trim the brim the crown might look to large for the brim. I would leave it the way it is. It's only off a tiny amount.
Re: How can I fix my LC fedora brim?
With a LC im not sure. With a Raiders style, giving it the turn helps shape this bend. With a LC I would have to defer to someone who had a LC fedora and had this bend in place.giantthugee86 wrote:How do I do that? Steam it and shape it?
