It's satisfying to share it with a group who appreciates it. No matter how I describe the pistol, most people just don't appreciate its factual or fictional history like we do.
So in the spirit of America, and Indy guns I have added another 1911 to my stable. Stable being even more appropriate because this one is a Colt. Not the same finish we see on the 1911A1 in Crystal Skull, but a very close replica aside from finish.
Thanks! I also tailored it toward one of my favorite video games. So I can go from Old School Indy style to Hitman by changing the grips. I much prefer the classic look of the walnut of plastic checkered type but to change it up this is fun.
Okay. Since I cosplay and do charity events and things for kids, most of my guns are just toys. The nicest thing I have is a Denix Webley Mk IV with a holster from the World War Store. I also really like the Dollar General revolver I repainted and shortened the barrel on and put with a very old holster. Thanks! i eyeballed it against some blueprints and photos. Scale-wise, it is 99% 1:1. It is still a WIP, as I need to continue to add little bits here and there, but it serves it's purpose right now! BTW- it's about a pound in weight- mostly foamboard, adhesive foil, corrugated plastic and a pipe from a flushing assembly for a toilet.

Here's my FEG hi-power clone wearing some new grips. Well, newish- I bought them several years ago but they required a ton of filing to make them fit. Still working on the right side to get it flush.

Great looking pistol. I had the exact same issues with mine and wood grips. Took some work but eventually, a happy ending.

BEAUTIFUL. I look at the Luger as "the one that got away". One day I some money left in my pocket after selling my Japanese sword collection. I had some great ones too. One from the 1300s, 1500s and one from the 1700s. Sold them all at the antique arms show in Allentown, PA and had a few grand sitting in my pocket. I had the intent of procuring the nicest standard P08 I could find. I had a few I was mulling over then the unimaginable happened. I for some reason thought it would be smart to save that money and use it for bills. So that's what I did. I am still disgusted with myself!

Yea, cool, but personally I'd stick with a WW2 or earlier P08. The Mauser built ones are considered the best for reliability. I do have WW1 era DWM which is shooter grade that is incredibly accurate and a joy to shoot. And there are so many variations to collect. It's a world all of itself and I recommend going to the Luger Forum http://www.lugerforum.com to learn more, another great community of folks.

That's the plan. The mini was just a neat conversation piece. Right now I have the Luger behind an M1 Carbine on my list but if I come across the right P08 I'll jump on it.
Anyone else interested in the semi auto MP40 that ATI will be releasing? I plan to get one of the pistol versions and SBR it eventually. I know we've brought it up, but it was ATF approved in Feb and I can't wait until they start shipping.
Oh, don't remind me of a MP40. When I was in college back in the early 90s a friend of my dad's had a MP40 he wanted to sell us. It's belonged to his brother who had brought it back at the end of WW2. We looked at it, but it had been deactivated, so my dad said we were not interested in it. At the time I had no idea how rare even a deactivated one was. I get sick every time I think about it getting away.
This is my attempt at Indy's gun. It's a S&W Model 10 with mods to make it look pretty close to Indy's gun. It's not perfect, but I didn't wanna do any permanent modifications to my pristine S&W.

Another one I am anxiously awaiting. If I can get industry pricing on one I'll definitely pick one up. If 7.62x39 mags look close enough to the 8mm Kurtz that's what I'll do. Similar ballistically, and dirt cheap to shoot.
I was given this "Legends Parabellum Pistole P.08" Luger BB gun today by a friend. It's kinda cool: life-size, metal construction, with some heft to it.
