Updated the first post with these set of pictures!

I am finally done! This has been a very interesting journey and I would love to hear your opinion on the final outfit!

The last piece of gear that I was missing was boots!

I went with the ''original'' Red Wings! I thought these had the perfect color pluss they are basicley identical to the Aldens! And the best part was.. I only payed 40 bucks for them!! :D

Here they are!
Image

And the final and complete gear! (which I also put in the first post of the thread.)

Desert ''LC'' location.

Gear looks great! I am loving
Those Red Wings! Do you know the model name or number?

It's been said before but I'll say it again. The way all your gear is distressed is what really helps sell it home. Many times we see a pristine hat, destroyed jacket, beat up satchel, shiny pants and aldens, etc. Yours is even across the board. Looks like you put screen used stuff on. Well done sir, well done.

Thanks Chris!

The gear was bought to break down. The gear is just that, gear! He cares as much for it as I care for the gloves I am wearing while painting the house.. zip!

And LC gear was the most distressed out of all 3, ehm 4 films.. you can't even count 4rth, that was JCpenny Indy.. anyways, distressing is key!

SaWeeet, it just goes to show, the right location just ties it all together.

Holt That gear is Awesome, makes me want to tweak my CS to a little more LCish.

Congrats. :notworthy: :notworthy:

One question about your shirt, wear the buttons go along the front, is that a permanent sweat stain?

Yes, Location is not only important but really fun. It just gives that extra spark and feel when doing the shoots.

Sweat is not permament no.. just alittle wather and dirt. ;)

Thank you Croft!

And yes, get your LC outfit tweaked. Can't wait to see!

Man, I think you have reached LC Nirvana with this! Excellent!!!

Now, if you do the Raiders set, I'm sure that with your attention to detail you will end up with the same stellar results, and I'm sure that it would be the most popular choice, however...

I've yet to see a truly inspired TOD gear set come together, and I know you're the man to do it! :TOH:

Thanks my friends! Didn't see this until now! (working on locations again which takes my time away from the hobby.) Very much appreciated! :TOH:

I agree, Weston, I have yet to see a truly inspired Temple outfit myself and I think it's going to be very difficult getting the true look, so much going on with the outfit. LC was diffcult but I knew what I was looking for as it's THE Indygear for me (besides the hat)

Temple was allways the least interesitng outfit for me so it would be done without that LC passion of getting it together.. However, gotto be honest, it's growing on me..

The full outfit looks great, Holt, and one heckuva journey! :notworthy: You got the 1907's for $40?! Now that's a steal!!!

BTW, I don't know if anyone mentioned this in the thread, but in some angles, you look more Chris Pratt-like...just sayin'. :D

Edit: on those 1907's, the version that's out now does not have the same sole like yours. I wonder if they changed it sometime ago.

Your LC gear looks awesome! It's the look I'm trying to achieve myself. I'd like to ask you how wide your weapon belt is? Some people tell me Ford's was 1 1/2 & others claim it was 1 3/8 in LC. I'm new here btw.

I understand why they are considered taboo around here. Thye are not very accurate.. I really lucked out with these.

Usually they have a really high waist. Or others have too tapered legs. Some are without pocket flaps, sometimes they come with only one pocket with a flap..

yeah, it pretty much is a needle in a stack..

Here is the back..

Holt, your posts are an inspiration! I had bought a pair of WWII officer pinks from Ebay the other day that were described in excellent condition, no holes, rips, stains, etc. On their way now and should arrive by Saturday. I hope they're as good as yours appear to be! I really am not a huge fan of pleats, and I figured if I could get pants in the original vintage material then all the better. Fingers crossed on these (pics below are from the Ebay listing):

McQ7 and Holt,

When you search eBay for the pants, what are you putting in the search box? I tend to get varying results based on what I label/call these pants.

And more importantly, what waist size do you seem to find a lot of on eBay. My limited searches tend to produce small waist sizes, 28,30,32.

I haven't seen those waist sizes since high school.

I haven't seen those waist sizes since high school.
I had multiple search notifications going: officer, wwii Pinks, wwii pinks pants, wwii pinks trousers, etc.

And I had them within the following category:
All > Collectibles > Militaria > WW II (1939-45) > Original Period Items > United States > Uniforms

and this not-as-deep of a subcategory:
All > Collectibles > Militaria

I'm not a big guy at 5'7" and 145 lbs with a measured 32" waist. The ones that I ended up getting had a 13" rise, which even when worn Indy style made me look waaaay too short. Specs have to be adjusted down from Ford's 6'1" height, and a rise of about 11.5" would be ideal. However, shortening the rise of a pair of pants is, in my opinion, cost prohibitive. The leg width was just over 13" and the leg opening was just over 9." Although the waist measured 32" it hung loosely on me, and I probably could have fit into a measured 31." I guess it had to do with the cut in the hips and seat, which had a ton of room. Unfortunately my pair had a stain/discoloration on the leg in natural light and the seller offered returns so back they went. But the fabric was out of this world, not itchy, somehow heavy and cool and the same time. Even accounting for wearing them at my true waist, they simply looked way to big--not Indy-like baggy, but just way too big. Too much fabric in all the wrong places. For someone above 6' tall with larger proportioned legs they may have worked. Just not for short guys, unfortunately. Didn't want to go on and on but I think shorter-legged guys should be cautious about them.

I think Holt is what, like 6'2" or something and built pretty sturdily, and he was able to nail it with his awesome Last Crusade pants we see in the pics!

Holt, I have a question.

When measure your waste, I'm assuming your measuring your waste in the same location as where the pants would sit.
And if you say measures 33", is this size we'd need to search for?

I remember when I bought my Todds we were told not to buy our standard pant size due to how we measure pants vs how pants should be measured. Does this make any sence.

Yes, I measure my waist and I ad +1 inch for play.

So lets say my waist is 36'', I know I need to look for 38. When I get them I wash / dy them down to a 37.
