New Wested ToD!

Post by teneas »

Found this on ebay late last week, and did some offering. We found a price that worked for both of us. Dark brown Lambskin, so it's super thin, soft, and buttery to touch.
Not going to distress this one, as I have one coming from S&J soon as well that will be distressed. Wife says I need to have "one good one". It's one size larger than what I wear, and I think it shows, but that's okay. I wear a 40, and this is a 42. Got some room for warmer clothes under it so when it gets colder outside.

Nice - I always kind of wanted one of these. Love the small pockets which are perfect since I never carry anything with me.

Great find and it doesn't look a size large at all. Maybe 1/2" in the sleeves, but that's a keeper, I'd say.

Was pretty stocked for it. I will now have 2 jackets in ToD style. Thinking I will need something a bit thicker for the really cold months as both of mine are thin. Won't keep me very warm. The lambskin is incredibly soft though. Picked it up off ebay for $225 with free shipping!

I remember the Wested ToD craze of several years ago. To me, the way they distressed the film jacket was really memorable. It made it a stand out for me, just the way the leather looked. In terms of the pattern? I always thought the low yoke and little pockets were interesting..... ;)

As for Thick? I have a Wested in novapelle. At one time, I was thinking of selling it, but decided instead to keep it around. It has that LC flavor. Also are Diego's cowhide LC jackets that he is making now, if you want a really accurate repro.?

Great looking jacket, and fits you well. I've been thinking about also buying one in shrunken lamb. But when I was at Wested's shop last fall, all of the shrunken lamb offerings they had were a dark caramel color - nothing nearly as nice as even your coat here. And I don't want to spend money on a new custom jacket and then immediately have to apply Pecards to darken it.

Bad lighting, but a good read on the grain.

Times have sure changed in this hobby. I remember when folks used to scream bloody murder and send jackets like this back with mis-matched grains, REGARDLESS of maker. :-k

Now they're praised.

I ALWAYS thought they looked GREAT! :M:

VERY nice example! Enjoy it!

I am not horribly picky honestly. They messed the vents up as well and aren't screen accurate. I just want to wear it!! The day I received it we hit the 90s and have just now started cooling off.
