Last Crusade custom by Steele and Jones

Post by car96 »

Here is a LC custom made by Steele and Jones. Diego was exceptionally helpful and patient while completing my jacket. He paid attention to my detail and was very professional & helpful making this jacket come to life for me.

It was my preference to have a custom LC to fit me & my requirements. It was not important to me to be entirely screen accurate, although I think it's pretty close.

I wanted a jacket that gave a LC vibe & would distress over time based on my wearing habits and that is what S&J provided.

Thanks Diego, pleasure to work with you.

The leather is cowhide, it's soft as can be and it fits like a glove.

Any questions, please ask. As always opinions are welcome. ;)

We do the distressing BEFORE assembly.
No thread compromised.

I won't recommend to distress that jacket. It looks awesome like it is.
And it will age beautifully with use.
Trust me.-

If I decide to distress it, it will be slowly and surely where it wont even look as though it has been distressed.

But, I probably will not.

I have now in my possession 7 leather jackets. 5 of the 7 are Indy style jackets that I have bought over the last 2-3 years and this is the first Indy that has the high quality leather and perfect fit that I have been looking for.

Then why destroy it right? Enjoy it.

Since you got multiple jackets you can allways go crazy on of those for costumeing..

Last Crusade custom by Steele and Jones

Post by ChrisMD »

I have 4 jackets now. My Magnoli is the ONLY one that I wont consider distressing. It is just too nice. My Novapelle is already very broken in and shows really good natural wear. I would let that S&J age gracefully and naturally. But dont baby it like a costume jacket. Give it some stories to tell.

Yes I do! It's a little ways off according to Diego (several orders in front of it), but I ordered a LC jacket in dark brown thin cowhide, with lighter 'motorcycle scene' style distressing. :)

There was a bit of a wait on mine too, but it was worth it.

Also, it was the first Last Crusade style they had done so maybe it will go a little quicker from now on?

Diego is this the thicker cow? What is its weight? I think you need a really solid Indy III/LC vendor thread with all these great photos posted in one? One resource.

Posting from an iPad for first time.

Jacket is breaking nicely as it can for indoor weather wearing-it's 100 degrees outside.

Sorry for late reply.
Yes, the pictures show the "Chocolate Premium Cowhide". Thicker hide. 9 - 1.1 mm thick.

car96, we need new pictures here!

One month old. I have only been able to wear the jacket around the house as it is very hot in Houston these days 95-100 degrees with high humidity.

Car, we'll drag you kicking and screaming into the 21st century if we have to. Take off them six guns, you won't have to circle up the wagons anymore. Now box that thing up and send it on out here, pony express style, if not sooner! ;)
