A. Gotta see it on your head, that's the only real test.
B. Stop with the turn when you get to here

The pictures from the other thread look great.
I took a bird's eye look at my AB Raiders with turn and the bow is about in the same place as yours.

Sweet. Thanks for the look. It jus looks weird or not right when laying flat on a table.

They always look funny when viewed from the top because they end up being creased off center.
I just avoid falling down and no-one notices.

And a much better description of it. As it is creased off center.

If your hat is on backwards that's "too much" turn.

Yeah, I was going to say if the bow is right over your forehead, that's too much turn!!

Re: How much turn is too much turn?
Well... I remember someone back in the early days of the turn discussion doing a 90 degree, and it still looked good. And I had a friend of mine who reblocked his hat 180 degrees... and it looked great too. So... maybe there ISN'T too much turn.
Re: How much turn is too much turn?
90 degrees ! 180 degrees! That's crazy! Thank you gents for the reply. I was thinking about removing the bow, replacing it and moving it back ever so slightly. Also tightening it to get that reverse taper mushroom look

Either way, that pic from the other thread looks great. You've got it spot on, I'd say.

Thanks for the compliments!backstagejack wrote:Either way, that pic from the other thread looks great. You've got it spot on, I'd say.
I have a new ribbon ready to go but I feel it's too light. I need to give it a rit black dye bath before I put it on. I usually wear a 56 but this 56 seams a tad bit bigger which I see as a plus. It gives me that extra room for the over toughening of the ribbon for the bulgy look.
Also for anyone wanting to know how broken in this fedora gets let me tell Ya.. It's super soft now from wearing it for a few weeks and jus working at the brim. It's pretty floppy and soft as heck!

How about a 390 degree turn?Heyjude7 wrote:90 degrees ! 180 degrees! That's crazy! Thank you gents for the reply. I was thinking about removing the bow, replacing it and moving it back ever so slightly. Also tightening it to get that reverse taper mushroom look

As long as it's clockwise it might make it less likely to come off.
