Ooooh that's nice. I might have to pick up a couple. Good find!
Re: VERY close enough indy shirt on kenneth cole site $24
Thanks for the head's up! I bought two of these and they were even more on sale, so they were just under $15 each. I went with the white and dyed them with a full bottle of RIT Taupe and half a bottle of RIT Pearl Grey. The dye job turned out reasonably well, but there are a couple things. First the stitching is done with a different material than the shirt, and it didn't take the dye at all. So now the shirt has white contrast stitching, it's not a big deal or even noticeable from a distance. Also the white shirt has dark buttons, so if you want a more SA shirt you would have to swap out the buttons for lighter ones.

Hey, new member here. Sorry for the newbie question but I have looked around with no luck.
What process did you use for dying your shirt? I ask because I followed the recipe you used in a 5 gallon bucket for a half hour and it turned out way too dark.
How big was the bucket? Did you put salt in the water? How long did you leave it in for?

Hey Shadow,
I'm also pretty new myself, and this was my first time dying anything. I did the dying in the washing machine with hot water, following the directions on the bottle. When I first pulled it out of the machine, and particularly when it was wet, it was really dark. I've washed them both since and it looks reasonably accurate, but I don't have anything to compare it to other than screen shots from the movies. All I can say is to try washing it again (alone in case the dye runs) and see if it fades a little bit.

Do you have a picture of the shirt?

Here's a picture in sunlight with a white and black shirt for color calibration.
