Cheap gun to fit Todd's holster?

Post by solbergg »

Hey, guys.

I have a holster from Todd's Costumes on the way and was looking for a cheap gun that would fit it well. As cool as Todd's gun is, I can't afford that much for a costume prop. I'd prefer to find something for less than $50 US. The airsoft guns offered by Speedytoys, while not terribly SA, would seem to fit the bill. Does anyone have experience using a cheap replica gun in a Todd's holster? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks!

Disclaimer: I did a search through the site and one commenter in 2008 mentioned buying a gun for Todd's holster from Airsoft. Unfortunately all of the model links were broken, so it did not help me.

Thanks! That's a really awesome conversion, and way beyond my skill. That being said, knowing it fits the holster helps a ton so I might get it anyway.

Before I got a good replica, I used a large (almost full-size) "six-gun" style waterpistol that I grabbed out of a bucket at a dollar store. A little paint (it was originally a semi-opaque orange) and it worked fine as a holster-filler. Sorry, no pix. It's long gone now.

I found this website: https://www.speedytoys.us/index.php?l=product_list&c=18" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Has anybody had any experience ordering from SpeedyToys? The TSD Sports Spring Revolver - 4 Inch Barrel looks good enough to fill in a Raiders holster. https://www.speedytoys.us/index.php?l=p ... tail&p=498" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If airsoft is your thing, you can do a search for an "HFC-131" revolver. They are a copy of a Smith and Wesson Model 13, which is the closest I've seen to Indy's revolver without going into 3-digit territory.

There have been a few shown here which were converted to look more the part of Indy's revolver; but you could leave it as-is and a man on a galloping horse wouldn't know the difference.

They may be discontinued, so the first place you see it online may not have them anymore. Dig deep and your search may be rewarded.

Got the HFC yesterday. Man, is this thing nice! I opened the package and when I saw it, I would have sworn it was a real revolver! Well, except for the orange plug. I took the extra grip piece off and now to remove the orange tip....

I got this gun

http://thumbs2.picclick.com/d/w1600/pic ... volver.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But it wont fit in the costume base holster, if I get the todd's holster will it fit? Is it bigger?

Right now you get a pocket knife if you get the Todd's Holster!

I ordered a HFC Airsoft 131 from Speedytoys for only $35 plus shipping ($50 all together). I accidentally had it shipped to my old address though! I tried contacting them to update my new address but they won't answer the phone or return my emails. I might have to order it again.
