We all know his is a dolled-up modern light- so I got to looking on the Net to see what he might actually have had. I don't know the earliest date of issue, but the Navy TB-8 Flashlight has a terrific "look" for someone who will be reading a lot of maps in a lot of dark places... I found a place that sells NOS in box ones and ordered one today. It's too easy to find pics of 'em on Google, "Navy TB-8 Flashlight", so I'll just let you know what it seems like when I get it in... The right-angled Army flashlights were rare even during the war; one model had to be trashed because the plastic literally stunk, so I doubt Indy would have had them available, though he does seem to have an uncanny ability to get as-yet-uninvented stuff... These were *meant* for mapreading, not marching, so more along Indy's line, IMHO. Anyhoo, I'll have an incorrect, N-SA, but vintage flashlight to go in my anachronistic Mark 7 Bag... perhaps in a padded mailing tube?
(p.s. don't tell anyone but I will be replacing the ancient bulb with a modern LED replacement, as this will be a *working* flashlight).
Darn, no Toht smilie... dunno when you'd need one, I don't, but still...
A Flashlight for Indy...
