Stiff Leather

My wested cowhide from x-mas is still really stiff and feels really thick even though ive worn it a ton and its gotten some real hard use, is there anyway to remedy this possibly, mostly im looking to get the stiffness out. Its stiff enough that its hard to move my arms...not hard like physical labor, but more like it feels heavy on my arms when i move them...

I think a good dose of Pecard's Gel every 2 weeks till its what you want will do the trick. But I could be wrong?

You're dead on target, Indyfist. You may get the results with the very first application! I did with my goatskin AND my Wested new finish cowhide. They currently list the 'jell' as leather 'creme', but once those labels are used up, Pecards will be changing it to the 'jell' description, as that's what the product actually looks like. Regards. I put mine inside out on the lowest possible heat in the tumble dryer and it softened up quite nicely.

Depends on your point of view, that being either INSIDE the dryer, or OUTSIDE the dryer. Oh, that's not what you were referring to, was it?

haha, i dont think id be up for a ride in the dryer, its pretty small, maybe one at a laundromat. Thanks a lot guys, i assume Pecard's is available online? Or can i walk out to some specific store and procure some?

Yes, leave the dryer riding to professionals. We're professional, too....we don't DO that at home!(grins)

I grew out a handlebar moustache once and thought it was great fun. If I only knew about Pecaeds back then. My wife, however, threatens to shave it off in my sleep if I ever grow one again. Oh, well.

Scroll down on the left menu to "Leather Dressing Pastes" and scroll down a little on that page. You'll see a small link which reads "Click here for the Jell Dressing." Do as it askes and you'll be there! It comes in a black container.

I think the Wested new cowhide is heavy just cause....its a heavy jacket

I've been wearing mine for 6 months now and it doesn't feel stiff or uncomfortable, it just has a noticeable weight to it.
