Lining / Liner replacements for the Indy Jackets...

Post by gi_canuck »

Hello guys. I've just noticed, all 3 of jackets due for lining replacements... (I've got 1 Todd's custom, 1 Wested, and 1 US Wings jackets). Is there anyway I can get the lining replaced?? Can a regular local tailor shop do them or should I send them back to respective manufacturers to get them replaced?

P.S. I wear my jacket everyday, hence the heavy usage. Wear Todd's for Spring / Summer, Wested for Fall and U.S. Wings for Winter.

A good taylor can certainly replace the liner, not all work with leather though so it's worth giving them a call beforehand to check. :TOH:

Wow, they'll replace the liner on a Wested or other competitor's jackets?

I should send them my Disney/Cooper...

I'd assume so, as there's nothing there saying otherwise....
it says:
for all leather flight jackets
and standard motorcycle jackets
for all leather jackets
Considering they MADE your Disney/Cooper, it would be a natural. ;)

Any tailor can replace it, the hard part is to find the correct material.
US Wings should have it of course.

Actually, I've had exactly the opposite problem.....we can find the materials, but finding a tailor who can handle relining a leather jacket isn't that easy to come across.

We HAD a good one locally, but she stopped relining jackets as it was too hard on her machines. She did a really good job too, dang it. :(

Actually my old Biker jacket was probably what did it in.

The leather on that piece is thick and hard as a brick. Thankfully she got it done with Jeff's but after those two we killed her machine. #-o

I started reading and saw M's post about a local tailor that did great relining work and thought, "yes, Jessica did amazing work breathing life back into my jacket!"

Then I kept reading... :-k

I don't know Jessica, but I hear that Dena does a great job.

Why don't you try her?
