They're in stock!!!...mostly.

Post by indy81 »

Well after almost giving up on the item, figuring that it would be on a huge back order list, I'm excited to say that the JCrew boots I've been hearing about ARE in stock. Of course, only in select sizes apparently. But Hey, they had mine...and that's all that matters....right :D . I had been trying to order a pair in the size 10, but figuring that I wear a size 9 1/2 in Doc Martens, possibly the shoe would fit.....being English to Italian craftmanship :? I dunno, but in 4 to 7 days I'm finally going to have a Indy boot lookalike, and it's close enough for me, on my college budget. I'll try to get pics up when they arrive. So I've got my fingers crossed and can't wait to see them in person. Swwweeeeeet!!

I'd love to know how the JCrew size fit is compared to what you're used to, i.e., if you ordered a size 9, is it a size 9 by most standards, or is the fit more loose or tight? Thanks! :) bink

Hey Indy81,
I'm glad it worked out for you. If you wear 9 1/2, they should fit you well.
Good luck,

I've bought the JCrew rugged boot in my normal size and they fit fine.
They may feel too narrow for a couple weeks until the leather breaks
in a little. Just wear 'em as much as possible and they'll get comfy
quickly.

Indy

I ordered the 9H-M. I had to call JCrew to make sure that it was 9 1/2, didn't want to have to sell it after I got it.....because there's no returning the item. :( I'm less worried now hearing that everyone that ordered their regular size in boot was happy in the end. So I'm sure they'll fit [-o< I'm so excited!....because there's no alcohol. (Chris Farley skit SNL)

I'm really surprised this size was still avaliable. Figured it would be the first to get picked over, who knew. You know, it was probably all just a computer glitch and there really wasn't a pair left, I just bought some air that's all.

I am sorry to hear about that Indy81. I would keep checking back. And if you live anywhere near an LL Bean outlet, I would check there for either their engineer boots or some of their other boots from previous years. There was one year they offered one that was dead-on, only without the speed lacers. That was about two years ago. Still, this stuff come up at the outlets, and here's big secret, a HUGE secret.

All of the used stuff that LL Bean gets in returns, stuff it cannot put in the factory stores, gets donated to the United Way Thrift stores in Maine. So, if you're ever on vacation in Maine...

Yeah, I even went to my local JCrew store and they don't sell shoes at this location. Sigh. :(

Guess I'll just have to keep my eyes peeled for something else....

Hey HJ, does LLBean have a store locator on their site? Or by chance does anyone know of one in the St Louis area?

Indy81,
I think you have to come out this way. Another excuse to come visit the East Coast.
