What I think is I would rather have a pair of Todd's pants. Yeah, they are more expensive but in my humble opinion they are the best pants and I wear them most everyday. Is "everyday" one word or two?
I like my Todd's pants but won't be ordering from them again. I have looked at the Land's End pant and like them. I just don't wear khakis enough to justify them.
The first 2 in this list are more LC/CS.
Toasted Rye
Light Beige
Khaki Taupe
I own Todd's also and that fabric is very classic suit type material with the way it hangs. Most of the chinos fabrics hang very different. I have a few different brands of them I were to work. The material is smoother.
I used to own Land's End chinos with the rear flap pockets which I'd bought over ten years ago. Good quality, but far too baggy for my liking. The material was a quite stiff cotton, so the bagginess meant that they never really draped well and looked a bit inflated. But I think that's the nature of chinos.
I've always liked these trousers as good close-enoughs and all around pants. The only difference is that I usually pay about 50 bucks less, as I find them often enough in thrift stores.
