Alden white stitching, cleaning, dressing

I've been wondering this ever since I first cleaned my 403's. How do you manage to clean the white stitching? I wear mind every day in a warehouse and they accumulate black dirt. All the white parts are pretty much black. I clean the boots with leather cleaner, which helps, but never really makes them fully white. I then use pecards on them, which gets all stuck in the stitching and I have to clean it out with a toothpick (otherwise it will attract dirt and looks ugly). How do you all get the white stitching clean?

Oh, and anyone know why the parts that get the most wear turn black after applying pecards (last pic)?

I've always used saddle soap on mine and scrubbed the stitching with a toothbrush. It works well and keeps the stitches nice and white. The only problem with this is that if they have built up a patina from polishing them, it may be cleaned up as well.

I've used just alittle bit of dish detergent to clean the stitching.
