I heard that! It's horrible!
I know that your just jonesing for those boots. Felt the same way when I made an order for a Wested Hero and later made a surreal drive up Wested Lane to pick it up in person. Fortunately Peter brought me down to earth with his usual patter

I would love to take a trip over to Wested Lane to see the place in person, but I'm afraid that once I was on the phone with Peter and I made a....less than flattering remark about the efforts of his assistant Gemma because I was expecting a pair of pants and they never informed me that they didn't have my size in stock and were just waiting until they came. I regretted my actions immediately after and I'm ashamed I said something like that because it's not like me to insult anybody. I'd be afraid of Peter saying something like he remembered my call and not letting me into the shop or something. LOL. I know it sounds silly, but that's the way I think of things. LOL.
Got an update this morning on the boots on the Track and Confirm site. It states "Customs clearance processing complete" at 5:09am this morning. I wonder how much longer I'll have to wait.

Now THAT is disgusting! That's almost half the price of the boots again! I swear, with the shipping costs and customs charges, I could have bought 2 pairs if I were in Todd's store personally.

it could be , i still have my boot's from todd's from a few years ago and they look great ( i mean i don't wear them everyday) but they haven't given me any trouble yet , except the heel came undone and i took it in to be repaired , good as new. i hope to get these new boots sometime soon .....
Actually, the hooks are my one beef with the manufacturer. They are not the ones that were on the samples they supplied. The ones they put on the production boots are more like the Aldens, which I'm sure they thought was what I would have wanted. The hooks on the Aldens seem iffy to start with. The rest of the shoe is totally superlative.
Also, reports are coming in, and what we're hearing is that the boots run 1/2 size large, not a whole size large.

I presume that would mean that when I get the shoes, they may be 1/2 a size too large (Thats good btw)?
Well, I've been wearing mine for two days now. So far so good. A few lightly sore spots here and there, but not unexpected from breaking in a new pair of leather boots. No problems with any hooks or the laces.
Wow. Just recieved mine in the mail. They are amazing . Ive ordered a 10.5 (US) because my feet are a 10(uk) and they fit perfectly, no issues what so ever.

This isn't fair, I STILL haven't received anything yet. :'(

Very informative, dude. Didn't do anything to help my jealousy, though. I hate you. No, I'm sorry, I don't hate you. I DO! I DO HATE YOU!! Dude, I don't seriously.........!

haha.
Dude, it turns out we both have exactly the same size feet. You said that they fitted your feet perfectly. I am concerned that they may be a little narrow as I have quite wide feet. Do you think I will find them as comfortable?
Not to sure. My feet are about 4 inches wide and there is still a bit of room (Thats wearing thick socks). The shoes may seem stiff and tight at first, but they will soon soften and loosen up for optimum comfort.
I would also consider a stick on sole for some grip, they can be a bit slippery.
If they don't, I suggest selling them on ebay or on here, I'm sure someone in the UK would want them, and then purchase a new pair. I wouldn't bother with sending them back because you will have to wait at least 3 week. and have to pay many a customs charges.

Sounds like a plan. I'm sure there is definitely somebody here that would like them, but i would have to sell them at a price where I wouldn't be losing money. And I doubt that would be a popular idea. But I'm obviously hoping for the best.
First of all, I do have one negative. It's a pretty prominent one. The heel of the right boot isn't flat. It's curved slightly, so much so that it can be tilted to almost a 20-degree angle. Looking at it from the naked eye, you wouldn't see it, but when it's on a flat surface it's really noticeable. And when you're wearing it, the curve is quite disconcerting, as your feet are at a completely different balance position. If I bought these from a local store, I'd have returned them by now, but I can't. The left boot is fine.
Construction-wise, they are great. They look fantastic and apart from the above problem, are very comfortable. They fit my feet well (my left foot being very wide just about fits inside). I think that keeping the larger size would have been a better option for me rather than changing it before delivery (but how was Todd to know, really? I can't blame him for that).
With all the greatness the shoes have, I still can't get over the one big problem. It literally feels like I'm out of balance when I'm walking. I wonder what I can do with them...?
