Interesting Inglis replica.

Post by DeWayne »

Stumbled upon this while looking for some cowboy gear for another costume I'm doing. I don't think I've seen this replica before.

Great find! Too bad you didn't post this a few weeks ago. I had searched for some HP replicas and finally bought an ASP Red Gun which I'm modifying and painting, and just bought a used "fixer" airsoft version (WE Tech) from eBay a few days ago. I could have bought one of those and been done with it. :roll:

I wanted to find out a bit more about it. Apparently it's a Denix. Looks to be a video review of the same model here on YouTube; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOpgr5dgbqI" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Best price I've found: http://www.medievalcollectibles.com/p-8 ... plica.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I just got one on eBay and it's a pretty rough cast. I started sanding down all the grinding marks and I wish I'd never started. :roll: It came without a magazine and to replace the mag will put me at about the same as buying a brand new one, so I bought a brand new one and I'll keep the best one and sell the other. (I sold my airsoft seen above and made back a little, so that worked out OK for a change.)

I'm sure it'll look great by the time you're done with it. Feel free to post some pics if you would like to. :D

Not surprisingly, the Denix HP has already made an appearance here: http://indygear.com/cow/viewtopic.php?f ... 3&p=727781" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And you know how once something comes into your consciousness, you start seeing it everywhere? Saw this on a poster at the post office today:

Well, they're just very photogenic. :lol:

Looked at that thread, all the deactivation talk made me sad.

Well, heck. Based on my observations in this thread -- http://indygear.com/cow/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=55254" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; -- I'm going to have to extend the barrel on my Inglis replica if I want it to be SA.

Or I could spend my time and energy on more productive pursuits.
