New 10ft raiders ready for distressing
Hi Guys,
I don't know if I have to be worried or just curious about the end of this 10ft raiders. /
I made this whip to a Italian tanner customer who will want give a really aged look.
Once he has finished the tanning proces, this whip will be hanging on the wall.
He also told me that when he has finished the tanning, he sends this whip to me.
I'll be curious to see significant changes in terms of color, strength and tone.
Thanks
g

Hey Gio!
That whip looks great, I love the handle length. It looks like it gives the whip some good leverage. It will be interesting to see what your tanner friend does with it.
Cheers

Excuse me Gio, but I don't really understand what this friend of yours is going to make to the whip. I suppose the whip you made is of drum stuffed, veg tanned kangaroo. Why would he tan it again, already made into a whip?
Or is he distressing the whip using his knowledge as a tanner to get the look he wants?
I'm a bit confused. Perhaps you're in doubt as I am.
Thanks, and have a great weekend!
Aldo.

I like the colour, but wouldn't it have been simpler just to braid the whip with a whisky tan hide?

...in whiskey tan surely would have been more convenient!!
Re: New 10ft raiders ready for distressing
You should get this guy to re-tan a white hide and sale distressed falls. That looks cool!!

Great work as always, as long as the customer is happy! Personally, I'd prefer to age the whip by using, it'll have more character that way methinks.
