New hat by vintage block.

Post by Holt »

Hey guys! I want to show another hat I pulled of the block I have. This time I went for a more Raiders'ish look, not specific to any of the many hats seen. If I had to chose which hat it most looks like? the Idol grab would be it I think.

anyways, I'm happy the way it turned out.

I'd say a perfect blend of Idol grab style with SOC reverse taper.

Glad you got this :D instead of this

yes, I agree there. my feelings as well allthough I lean more towards idol grab. soc has a a few details that really stands out. especially the bulge and the channel. but the reverse taper is there. of course ;)

:TOH:

allthough, looking at my pictures it can really remind of this hat.

Another nice looking lid Holt. What kind of hat did you start with, or did you use a felt body? Out of curiosity, what size hat do you wear? :TOH:

So technically, it's not really a new hat on a vintage block, per the title... ;)

That hat looks great mate! Is that the same block as you used for the LC?

Very cool stuff...My Fed IV is itching for a re-up now... :TOH:

Great hat! It sure looks like taken from that pic of Indy & Marion. Not only the crease, but the wing is exactly like that.

Hey Holt... We have the same hat size.... You thinking what I'm thinking?
That is an absolutely fantastic looking hat, and I am increasingly jealous. It's absolutely spot on! You've got to be one proud papa! You've always made hats look great, but now that you found the block, they're coming out just perfect!

When will you start your re-blocking business? I'm not even joking.

What? Overworked, underpaid, undervalued and complained about constantly?

I'd be fairly sure Holt wouldn't want to do that to himself.... ;)

Besides, John Penman is already half way there!

If Holt ever decides to sell any of these I'm up for buying them...But I think it's rather clear that at the current time he's fine "as is"..
