My new Strain "Zorro-esque" target whip (more pics now)

Post by DJN »

Just wanted to post for all to enjoy. Joe just took this pic of my new whip that on it's way to me.

It is 5 foot, 16 plait in black kangaroo with a sterling silver ferrule. Sort of a more compact Zorro type whip. Just what I pictured in my head when I asked him to make it. The guy is such an artist. I'll post more pics when I get it in hand.

Is the handle 10 or 12 inches? Seems like 12 to me but not sure...
Thanks,

I asked Joe to use his "LoneStar" style whip as a base to work from which I believe is a ten inch handle. I wanted a shorter handle than his official Zorro/Alex Green style whips. I needed something a little more compact as those are pretty large whips and sometimes I find myself performing in smaller more compact stages/venues and thought this would be a perfect size and feel.

WOW! Thats beautiful. I would love to own a whip like that. How does it crack? Not that there should be any question to its excellence. I think that my be my next project. Something like that in paracord. Any way, congrats on your new whip!

That's an Awesome Whip! It looks really sleak! I just talked to Joe and he said that your whip & my Whips went out @ the same time- I will have mine in hand on Saturday! I can't wait- I love Joe's whips! I'm getting a pair of 4 foot OxBlood Red 16 plait Lonestars, so I can practice inside- I'll have to post a couple pix for you-

Thanks. I just saw your thread and post as well. Great looking whips. I have Joe's 4 ft. LoneStars too - great whips especially for indoors.

I'll have my whip in hand later today. It's already at my house - just have to head home! Can't wait.

Joe seems proud of it too. He posted the pic to his Facebook page. When I saw it, I thought "Wonder who the lucky devil is that ordered that?"

Now I know. :TOH:

Enjoy!

There's just been something about the way a 16 plait black whip looks. I've seen 12 plait black, 20 and 24 plait black, but 16 just

something about it. I don't know, maybe it's just that's the strands are not too wide, not too thin, just right, but I love the way it

looks. :TOH:

Every time I'm looking through here, I look at this topic for this photo. I love it so much I not only set it as my desktop background, but also as my phone background. I know, I am a little strange. Again, beautiful whip!

Joe really outdid himself. It is a beautiful whip and handles amazing. Just spectacular.

Will be my "go to" whip for performing I'm sure.

A very nice addition to the collection. Here are just a few of my whips laid out - most of my Morgans and Indy whips aren't even laid out here and none of my smaller mini-bulls and signals.

Some of Joe's other nice work.

You know indy whips are cool and tough looking, but this zorro whip is just beautiful, a work of art. I'm gonna repeat what I said

for emphasis, I'm jealous.
