Chippewa boots info

Post by Jack Flanders »

This might help folks who might've been curious about the older style LLBean Engineer boots.

I asked this question through the Chippewa site:
"You used to make a version of the Engineer Boot for LLBean that was made of very robust, stiff leather and now make a version which they call the Katahdin Iron Works Engineer Boots; this is made of a softer leather which feels more broken in. My question is: in your "classic" collection, do you make a boot that is more in line with the older style LLBean Engineer boot? Or are they all made of the same kind of softer material found in the Katahdin Iron Works Engineer Boot?"

Answer: "the closest style we have is the 25290"

I take this to mean that style is like the old Engineer boot (robust); I have not verified this in any other way. But it has a lug sole.
