My kid needs a new lid!

Post by afterthedog »

On a trip out of town a few months ago my three year old son lost  his Indy hat! It was a cheap "official" one that I picked up at a gas station for fifteen bucks, so it wasn't a great monetary loss. Now his 4th birthday is coming up and his mom and I want to get him a replacement, but the gas station doesn't have any more. With a quick Google search I was able to come up with this: http://www.amazon.com/Indiana-Jones-Kin ... 858&sr=8-2

Does any one know anything about this hat? Keep in mind that it's for a four year old boy (in other words, I ain't lookin' for an AB or a Penman here).

Looks like it's probably a stiff wool hat. Perhaps not the best of the Dorfman quality, but if it's for a 4 year old, this would probably fit the bill perfectly.

I've got a youth large Dorfman official from Disneyland (looks like this). It may be a bit large for a 4 year old, but I'd send it your way for the cost of shipping.

Lost it? No! A 3 year old? Get out!

Just a bit of teasing from another parent.

That hat looks fine for a 4 year old. ;)

I remember when I lost (brother actually destroyed) my first Indy-ish style hat when I was 5yr, I was devastated.

That should be a fine hat for your son.

But for a 4 year old, a $15 hat should be perfect. ;)

Check out amazon and look up Jaxson Hats. They have a couple of colors with black ribbon. The small size fit m 4 yr old perfectly. I think they were around $20. He liked it so much I got him a grey to go with the brown.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. :TOH:

JLee: Thanks for the offer. I'll keep it in mind.

Beaverlid: I've seen several hats for similar prices. In fact, I've found the exact replacement for the hat that was lost. For about $45. Not sure how I got one for $15 when everyone else sells them for so much more.

mcmanm: Thanks for the tip. I'll look into it.

Hey afterthedog, did you ever choose a lid for your son? I just ordered the Indiana Jones Crystal Skull hat from Amazon for my 4 year old son. It is almost hiking weather and we both wil need our lids, I will post pics once we get it.

Nah, I've been dragging my feet on it. His birthday is in a couple of weeks, so I have a little time. I'm mostly just trying to decide how much money to spend.

I almost got stuck without birthday gifts a few weeks ago on my son's birthday. I purchased a couple of Indiana Jones Lego sets online a few weeks before his party from a vendor that kept promising me they were coming, they never did show. Luckily I ordered them way in advance and had time to order from a different vendor - because the IJ legos was central to his birthday theme it was important I got them. He was very happy!

his kid lid should be in on the 5th...I think the cheap one for my boy is best...
