LL Bean taupe close enough on sale

Post by lantzn »

These are hard to get in 38 waist but it looks like they have 36 and smaller. These have the pleats and both rear flap pockets.

I own these - actually the first part of my gear I ever bought - and they are very comfortable even in summer and have a great color to them.

To anyone that has these... anyone had a problem with adding the military type hem to them?

I have a seamstress I use occasionally, I just will need to acurately describe the hem. And it is a 4" hem, right??????

I just received a pair and they are quite nice and comfortable. They didn't have my length so I ordered a longer pair - they should fit perfectly after a proper hem.

Ditto what you said.

I think the color is a little more suited for LC though than Raiders, but still very nice especially for $20!!!

I've had a pair for over a year now, but I just bought two more with this sale. Thanks for the heads up.

Got the taupe colored pants in yesterday....havent tried them on but the look is great. Put them up next to my NL and the color was just about spot on. Flap pockets, pleats, light weight for summer. I am really considering getting another pair as the price is incredible for substitute Indy gear. Thumbs up!

I ordered a 38 and received a 36. :x

Anyone want to trade (your 38's for my 36's) before I ship them back?

These pants are a steal at this price. I would not hesitate to pick a pair of these up in any color if your size is available. I have a pair of the taupe that I initially purchased as my close enough Indy pants but I wear them for business casual dress far more often.

Great find, unfortunately they are out of my size.
Will they re-stock the unavailable sizes?

I got a pair of these last week and they are definitely quality. The hidden elastic waistband sections are pretty cool. The pants seem to run a bit long (I always wear a 32 inseam and these are definitely longer than my other pants) so I'll need to get them hemmed.

I feel the only negative aspect of these pants is that they are made of polyester, and particularly now with the dry winter air a static charge easily forms, causing the pants to stick to your legs. Hopefully the static won't be as much of an issue in moister conditions...

They have these now, and they have a 30% off deal, but looks like it's due to close tonight. Back pockets have the rear pocket flaps and made of cotton. Think I'll give em a try. Like it cause you can go with no cuff and lots of inseam lengths, going to give mine an extra 1/4" . I'll let ya know how they are.

Oh yea, free shipping too, get em while ya can.

Those are actually my favorite pants and I'm able to easily able to replace them at the Manchester NH Bean's outlet. But you have to bring your own measuring tape since the sizes aren't accurate.

Since the links don't work, what are the pants called so we can look them up on the site?

Hey, Croft... didn't we go to America's Stonehenge together once upon a time back when you were still new to the hobby?

Maboot - When I'm up and about again we should all meet up at Beans in Maine or maybe Stonehenge again.

Sorry Fisk, wasn't I. But sounds like an adventure in the making, problem is I tend to work Sat/Sun while most have the weekends off. My Sat/Sun is on Wed/Thurs, crazy huh. But we'll see what unfolds.

And I think or outing was to Portsmouth, and the Coat of Arms and a walk through down town Portsmouth.

Thanks Croft for the link.

I sure like what Wested Leather has. However, between the exchange rate and the import tax/es, I am having time a tough time justifying the expense.
And besides, their pants may not be long enough for me.

Just got mine the other day, and alas they may have to back, seems they tend to ride a little lower than my other pants and well, dang it, it make my stomack look larger than it is (but probably is  ).

I'll get the Misses opion on the AM. If it's just me we'll see, if not Manchester just around the corner, and I'm off on Wednesday ;)

Ok as promised, got the Misses opinion and it's just me, ya know the ol famous line, do these pants make my butt look big, but in this case my stomach. Turned out not to be the case, as you can see in the below pic.

LL Bean on the right and Wested on the left. This is so you can see the color difference, not exact, but certaintly close enough. Taken with a flash.

Croft,
Thank you for the photos. I have been wondering how close was "close enough." The LL Bean pants will most certainly work!
Just to be sure, are the LL Bean's taupe?

Yes the color is Taupe. I tried the link at the top and for some reason (probably me) it didn't work so I'll re-post the link again in hopes that'll work.

Now these are the pants I bought.
