Hi Dave,
I suppose you're referring to the hat sides. I just like it more the reverse taper looking.
Reading back my messages, I don't see where I wrote I was feeling like Indy. Anyways, I am not intending to be Indiana Jones, though I am a big fan I have my own style.
I wear the fedora and the jacket because I love hats and jackets, not to feel like Indy (ok, maybe a bit ). And I suppose most COW fellow members wear their hats for pleasure not a costume for parties or so.

ah, ok... sorry, my bad. I was a bit confused with the sentence, I thought "set them straight = the crown sides)

Too much coffee i guess or too much obsession with hats.

But thanks anyway... my friends sometimes ask me why I am obsessed with any Indy stuff... I jsut tell them: only fans can understand... never mind!!!

Speaking English pretty well doesn't mean you know all the expressions and colloquialism

Oh, and on the Dutch speaking better English than the British: I guess you never heard our former Prime Minister (Mr. Balkenende, the one who looks a lot like Harry Potter) butcher your language then

It's dark here almost always now due to the short days and lousy weather.

I've tried to take some from inside, but they just look @#$%. I need a nice bright day to do it any justice.....I've also got a new LC Penman to show off as well, but can't get a decent shot.

I really need a Squidkidd..

Ok, I was in a coffee shop in Beirut and when I returned to my desk I saw the Henry resting under a beautiful light that was hitting the hat.
I couldn't resist so I took the picture...

Thank you all for the kind words. When I first got my Henry, I felt my head wasn't wide enough which made the brim look too wide on me, so I gave it the LC curl and the Raiders pinch (no turn) though there is a TINY turn, not much to count.
If I ever get a Christies hat, that will be turned into a SOC all the way with turn - but really, my Henry is so nice and has been so well-worn, I really don't NEED another Indy hat (I would feel like I was cheating!)
The photo was taken outside of the "Tower Of Terror" attraction at Disney.

Recently I flew to Egypt to cover the elections there. When I was getting inside the plane, one of the MEA flight attendant girls looked to me and said: "I liked your hat"....

Thanks, I said ... Hum

, that was a nice way of starting a trip, I thought to myself.
The thing is, during the flight from Beirut to Cairo, this beautiful Lebanese lady stopped to talk to me and asked more about my hat, bla bla bla... and it happened that she was going to stay in Cairo for some days off at friend's house.

End of story... we dated a couple of nights...

and I am sure I will never leave home without my hat

Oh yeah Ian,

I've seen this article some months ago. What she wrote is totally @#$%. Just like the film critics sometimes.
I guess she had a very very bad experience or date with a guy in a fedora, and she blamed the hat

I get compliments about my hat all the time, most of them are women....

I'm soon to be sending my Henry to John for a reblocking/resizing. Also having a new sweatband and liner put in. I'm going to miss it so I hope the turnaround time is quick - but I know you can't rush art!

I have not really worn it that long, but I don't think its going to leave a red line. There is maybe a 1/8" gap on the sides. I have not contacted anyone on it.

If I squeeze the hat on the sides as I drop it on my head, it glides on easily and kind of locks in place. This is the first sized hat I've purchased so I'm not familiar with it. My only other hat before this is a wool hat sized large...

It will take around 2 months for the hat to conform to your head. When new, hats are like this... overtime they smooth, get character and conform to the owner's head.
Wear it as much as possible, every day if you can... the more you wear your lid the faster it will take to fot you right.

Thanks. Based on your comments and similar ones I've been reading, I think it will be fine. And I plan on wearing it every day! Thats why after I learned a bit about hats, I went for a good one!

jkbuck - Very cool on the grey Henry. I'd love one of those too!
