Wow! Those kids jackets are coming early! Soooo, what does that mean for the legend striated lamb?Sgt. wrote:Amen.. I wear my Bison every where But to Bed.. Crazy but I just love the look and feel! Weston I would loan you my Bison But You would not give it back.. BTW I sent out all of the Old Cow Legend Jackets Fri. and will send out all the Kids Old Cow Legend this Wed. Now we are going to have some very happy Little Indy Fans When they open the USW Box when Moms and Dads are not around!!Weston wrote:The reason no one else has posted pictures of theirs is that they are still being made. I've been lucky enough to feature the jackets because Sarge has been sending me his own personal jackets that are made for him and sent to him for final approval to photograph and submit for his website. He didn't send me the Bison though, and I'm going to have to wait like everyone else. That should tell you how much he likes the Bison; he's not about to part with it! As to the discount, as always, best to just ask them directly.Indiana Croft wrote:
Man this jacket looks nice, how come there hasn't been more posted pic's, seems like this thread got hijacked on bison (which does look nice).

I believe the target date is still the middle of December, in time for Christmas.

Re: UDATE: Wings Striated Lamb—now with BISON SAMPLE
Yes Michaelson it is.. But we had to cut off all of our vendors !Meaning we will not be able to supply any new dealers before Christmas and only Two Little Indy Legend per household and M. I have a very strong feeling we will be sold out of all Indy-Style Jackets long before X-Mas!!Michaelson wrote:I believe the target date is still the middle of December, in time for Christmas.

Dec. the 1st we will start e-mailing our friends on COW and go over their size with them and remember there is a $ 100.00 discount on the Legend and the Collectors.. If there is a question and or problem just e-mail Myke or Myself.... We answer any and all e-mail.

Man, I am liking the look of that Bison! I'll be withing 30 minutes of US Wings for my Christmas travels. I'll be stopping in to see what's there. And probably spend more money that I should. What the heck, I've been good this year!

The Bison jacket pictured on the site looks a little...blotchy. Similar to the striped New Zealand lamb jackets we've seen. Only blotches, not stripes.
Is that a sought-after look? Would the colour even out over time?

Re: UDATE: Wings Striated Lamb—now with BISON SAMPLE
I've got to think that the leather coloring would HAVE to even out over time with distressing and applications of leather conditioner of personal choice, Kevin.
I mean what is leather, really...but skin? It ALL tans out and evens out naturally over time.....but, your point is well-made....if someone wants an even look immediately, the leather photo'd IS a bit mottled in color.
Regards.

I like that leather- just not on an Indy jacket. Not on mine anyway
Re: UDATE: Wings Striated Lamb—now with BISON SAMPLE
I know what You mean.. I think I lost count of all the leathers I offer in the Indy-Style Jackets!djd wrote:I like that leather- just not on an Indy jacket. Not on mine anyway
I not only made this Bison for the Indy-Style Jackets but made the A-2 from it and Now I think I will even offer the G-1 made out of this Bison leather! I have seen Bison before but never anything like this! Guess you have to feel it and answer all the questions about the leather while you wear it!It comes down to Bison has been used for thousands of years for jackets and coats one way or the other and there must be a reason for that.. Very true not the leather for everyone that is why I offer all the other leathers to my customers.

That to me is one of the real strengths of the current US Wings offerings Sgt. You have a great range of leathers, some of which are only otherwise available from the most expensive custom jacket makers. Choice is good

Just pulled the trigger on a imported SL. Went on US Wings site, they were listed so I pulled the trigger.
I've posted this same meassage in the meassage from Sarge, so if this seems redundent, Admin, feel free to remove.
But Sarge him self said it was ok. Croft

Hello Bruce,
I think you will really like the Import! I love the one I wear a lot But fell in love with the new Bison but that is another story! One thing you are all the Fans should be aware of is as of this Jan. 1st 2011 there will be a price adjustment and we will no loneger be able to offer COW the $ 100.00 sicounts .... With the price increase of Leather we must bring an end to that offer.. So looks like you just saved $ 100.00.There really is not much I can do about that either.. You may post my words!

Alrighty then....I just recieved my bison hide jacket yesterday. I will be putting up pictures, and doing a full review by this weekend, but for now I'll give you some first impressions.Sgt. wrote:I know what You mean.. Sarge
As I told Sarge, in spite of all his descriptions both via e-mail as well as his website, I still had in my mind that the Bison jacket (I call it Buffalo, means more to me that way!) would be stiff, and heavy. It isn't, not by a long way! It is actually lighter and more flexible, softer if you will, than the Striated Lamb. And thin! On the Wings website, it is described as slightly heavier than the cowhide, but I'm not sure that it is; I am amazed at how light it is! Still feels like it could stop a bullet however. The color is, as someone already posted, very much like the NZ lamb; uneven, with lots of red in it.
The grain is completely unique. I can't really compare it to any of the other leathers offered other than to say the grain is agressive, and varies throughout the jacket, with the most distinctive grain (sort of elephant like, if you've ever seen it) placed on the pockets and flaps. Like Sarge already said here, it may not be for everyone, and I'm thinking of those that want a movie replica specifically, but for those that want a Raider's jacket in a totally unique, high end type of hide this is it! Again, I want to emphasize the light weight and suppleness of the jacket. It really surprised me! I hope the pics I post in the days that follow will illustrate what I'm talking about.

Re: UDATE: Wings Striated Lamb—now with BISON SAMPLE
I hear you Weston about the movie replica thing and perhaps that may not suit everyone. First off, I would say if I had no Indy jackets this would not be my first choice because of staying SA. With that said, I have full intentions of getting the bison Indy jacket. The reason is simple... I just think it is a perfect hide for such a jacket. Tough with plenty of character! I can't wait to see your pics!Weston wrote:Alrighty then....I just recieved my bison hide jacket yesterday. After the holidays, I would prefer to buy, but I want to take advantage of the discount before it's over. This means I will probably place my order very soon. Let us know about the fit compared to the SL US Lamb as well!
