He's normally pretty good about answering his email. If you really can't wait and don't mind the markup give Colin over at Aussie Saddles a call.

Take this for what it is worth. I called Collinn at Australian Saddle Company to ask about some whips on his site and he said that Terry was retiring. Again take this for what is worth

Just got this email today from Colin:

Allen, yes, very sad, but true. I have not been able to get any whips from him now for about a year.
And I cannot find anybody who can make a whip like Terry Jakka!

Cheers, Colin D.

Awww man, a Terry Jacka Indy IV whip was one of those things I had been planning on getting "some day" (along with a Nowak CS to go with it). :(

I really need to stop being such a procrastinator as I'm quickly learning that sometimes, "some day" never comes to those that wait.

However, I'm happy for Mr. Jacka and hope he enjoys his well earned retirement.

It's sad to hear he's retiring. I sure would have liked to get a Indy IV whip from him.

Just got word back from Terry, and he's not retired yet! :D

He said that when he decides to retire, he'll let us know.

Colin has been saying that Terry Jacka is retiring, for years . Terry's not retiring any time soon though and will continue to make whips for as long as he is physically able to keep making them to his standards, so it's business as usual.

Colin hasn’t been able to get as many whips from Terry because he doesn’t send many whips out to retail suppliers anymore. It’s not because he isn’t making them, but rather because he’s been busy filling the orders placed though The Australian Whip Co. website.

Bullit, Terry normally replies to his e-mails pretty quickly, so I’m suspecting a technical glitch. I know he’s had some issues in the past with occasional e-mails getting bounced. I’d recommend double-checking the address to make sure its going to theaustralianwhipco@exemail.com.au or possibly try sending it from a different e-mail account address.

Thank you COW global moderator "BullWhipBorton" and COW member "Bernardodc" for the information and clearing up the situation. Much appreciated. :TOH:

So I guess the reports of Mr. Jacka's retirement "have been greatly exaggerated". #-o

But, as I have learned the hard way......NEVER procrastinate if possible. My 2 year old 10 foot Terry Jacka "KOTCS" bullwhip sits proudly besides me.

Glad to hear that Terry's NOT "retiring". While this is not going to happen for the forseeable future those putting things off should see this as a wake up call to order a TJ whip as soon as you're able. No one knows what the future holds. Look at the example of Tony Nowak and his unexpected passing. Now everyone wishes they'd ordered a TN made by the man when they had the chance. Sadly TN ORIGINALS under Riley is going to shut their doors forever closing that opportunity as well.

My advice is to get things when the iron is HOT. I ordered my TJ Indy IV whip and TN CS jacket as soon as they went on sale. ;)

Dan- Thanks for the info. I've tried again using the email address you posted, but no luck yet. I'll try from another account as suggested.

Thanks again.

Bullit,

Make sure you use the theaustralianwhipco@exemail.com.au account. However, it may be a day or two before Terry gets a response out to you.
